  • The Weaver Wander is an annual charity road run open to any type of car, and usually has its base in or close to Nantwich in Cheshire. Entrants had a choice of three road routes to choose from in 2024, with both classic cars and more recent sportscars making up the bulk of the entries.
The 2024 Weaver Wander took place on the 18th May, and as in previous years we headed over to admire the cars as they congregated at the start point. Maybe one day we'll actually enter, but this year we dusted down the old Ford V8 Pilot for our drive over to film both arrivals and departures.
It was great to see a few very early cars in evidence this year, and also a number of crews choosing to dress in attire appropriate to the period of their car. All good fun.
I'll include links at the end of this Old Classic Car video to previous runnings of the Weaver Wander. If you took part this year, please pop a note into the comments and let us all know how you got on.

It's in great condition, and it's always nice to see a non-sporty version of a particular car being well looked after!

Another great video! That long boot Honda had me scratching my head. It appears well constructed, but to what end? Plenty of interesting cars on the road here. Thanks, Richard.

Hopefully someone will chime in with the back story to the unusual Honda - it's certainly distinctive

@@oldclassiccarUK I would have to laugh if it has a pop out tent in there and the trailer hitch is for a boat!

An R&H production ! Richard l'm racking my brain trying to remember where l saw it but l saw the prototype Saab 93 at a show last year. l think it was Powderham Castle . The owner had brought the car over from Sweden just for the show ! I believe it was built in 1949 . That '66 Mini Cooper was missing the "nerf" bars on the bumpers . You do have amazing shows in your part of the world . Thankyou both

A very good turnout for this event. So many great classics there including the wonderful Saab 93. I like both of the Mk1 Cortinas, both seemed to be well cared for but the white one looked like new. The Honda was very curious, I would love to know the story behind that one. Well represented with Triumphs of all types, almost a whole Triumph club there I reckon. I hope 'Mr. Onions' didn't have any of his stock stolen along the way. Excellent video Rick thank you once again. 👍👍

Hello Richard 👋 I absolutely liked the black Saab 93. Such good condition and a highlight of the show. Those Hondas are neat. I might not be viewing to many of your videos soon unless I become an elitist posh club member only. Ha ! I'm only kidding. I enjoy your videos .

What a great turn out, especially the TRs and Stags. But I didn't like the look of the copious white smoke from the exhaust of the white Stag departing at 47:05 (blown head gasket?). Cars that especially caught my eye were the gorgeous cherry red MK2 Jaguar and the dark green 2-door Volvo Amazon. As a luddite I was impressed to see the Youthful Assistant using a gimlet!

Some interesting cars there RJ. That Honda is intriguing but obviously considerably modified for a specific purpose. Did you not fancy doing the run in the Pilot?

Yeah I might try the Pilot on this one, I need to build up to distance runs first though :)

My car of the day, well 'cars' actually because I'd take anyone of several from this show. As usual the pale blue Morris 1100 is near the top of my list and it can be joined by any of the Triumphs (saloons only), the Saab 99 and the MKll Jaguar of course. Are those Triumph Stags breading somewhere these days? I see more of those things now than I ever saw in the 70's. Perhaps a name change is due? Triumph Rat, they're everywhere haha.
