83 years young now, and she was 44 in this interview. She is so much fun and immensely talented.
1968 baby here. Amazing to see this interview again. Time is flying by thanks RUclips
83--and still looking weirdly alternative!...but she long ago lost her nice figure...She is now into painting, and her works sell very well.
@@curbozerboomer1773 Do you still have a nice figure?
Her 13-year old is now about to turn 50.

Not only does Grace have an out of this world voice and is gorgeous, she is funny and a great interviewer
One of his best I think!
Phew, I thought she passed.
Her stunning vocal performance on White Rabbit alone will live on for generations (not to mention everything else she accomplished)…legend.

Grace Slick Vocals Isolated White Rabbit
You will not be disappointed.
I know it right, us baby boomers are losing our generational time warriors faster than the WW1 folks are !!
Agreed, that performance will resonate in human civilization for the rest of it's tenure.
Grace Slick in my opinion was the greatest female singer in the history of rock and roll. Somebody to Love and White Rabbit are both absolute classics.
Yes !!!
Janis joplin was much more talented, so was karen carpenter.
You don't realize how powerful she was until you hear other artists try to emulate her. They can't.
@@tonyennis1787 I've been saying for years that female rock vocalists need to take a lesson from Grace..so powerfull
She’s great, but I’m sorry… I personally believe that Ann Wilson of Heart is the greatest female rock and roller of all time.
The series of interviews he did with her are some of Letterman's best.
She was way too real to do hollywood stuff. I didn’t know who she was until I found these videos on RUclips and saw how much everyone loves her
These two played off each other perfectly!!
IKR? The unstoppable force vs the immovable object. Nuclear fission.
Grace slick absolutely a legend. Love her.😎
Dynamite wrapped in velvet.❤
Love how she puts him in his place
Man I love Grace.
Never knew Grace had such a good sense of humor. Fantastic
LOVE YOU GRACE. She's one outspoken woman.
One of the greatest rockers of all time.......
Saw Jefferson airplane perform in 1968 at Isle of Wight (U.K.) festival. Grace slicks voice amazing.
I saw her with the Airplane in ‘89. Free show in the park in SF 😜🌸✌
I saw her perform in Los Angeles with Jefferson Airplane. She was wearing a dress and after one song she raised the dress and said “Merry Christmas” everybody. She did not have underwear on! One of the best shows I ever saw. That same weekend Big Brother and The Holding Company were performing in town, with of course Janis Joplin. I chose to see the Plane.
Sorry you chose the wrong one
Oh I would have chosen Janis w BB & Holding Co
@@michaelcanney7218Not necessarily.Grace was hot
@@KittyCarlile-490Well Grace and Janis were both good.
@@KenMcMunn-bp5xv they were, indeed
She is pretty awesome here. 👍
She is so funny! Her impromptu banter is just amazing; this is a sign of a very high intelligence! She could be a standup comedian. Debra Harry was once a waitress for the Jefferson Airplane when she was younger; I wonder if they were good tippers LOL. The two of them are my favorite rockers. I wish they would get together.
Saw Starrship twice, both concerts had Her AND Mickey Thomas up front together ,both master singers
I'm 72 an I still love her music 🎶
N I'd love to meet her
Thanks for the clarification on Toast on a Stick. I was not familiar with that.
As presented by the one and only, Larry 'Bud' Mellman, esq.
What a nice episode. By the way, all Grace solo albums are precious.
Great interview!
“Looking back on those times, what was your most actively disgusting thing?”
Dave Letterman, sacking his own groceries and in top form here.
Love her.
The music industry desperately needs more female personalities like Grace Slick.
You should check out Priscilla Mobean’s cover of White Rabbit. The music industry is about to get good…
or female impersonators !!! :)
You bet your sweet Bibpi!
GRACE ONE OF THE GREATEST SINGERS IN MUSIC 🎶 🎵 ❤ Fan Forever.
Gee that is one beautiful woman. Very classy. Super personality.
A great artist
Complaints about 2 bundles of firewood costing 10$. A gallon of milk is damn near that price today.
Stevie nicks could never be this cool
They are completely different people.
Stevie Nicks is very cool. Both are very cool for their generation.
Her daughter would be 52 now. So much for Duran Duran.
I used to be a big fan of Roberto Duran.
China Kantner was an MTV VJ back in the 80's
Not a huge Airplane/Starship fan but I really admire that she is one of the very few Baby Boomer rock legends with the dignity to actually retire.
Saw her with Jefferson Starship in the '80s. Great show, Grace kicked ass!
@Zolar Czakl October of 1939 is when she was born. Not a boomer...
@Zolar Czakl I was talking to someone else.
I feel she stepped down from music having the maturity to understand that she had said everything that needed to be said in that medium and pivoted to painting instead.
Wish there is a tape of her havin a conversation wth keith richard. Would be very interesting.
You got Keith's name right thank you
It was so heart warming to see and hear Larry Bud Melman at the end of this video.
I really miss that little man.
I knew a Dr that treated her for a bad cold in NY. He sad she cursed like a sailor😆
Grace looks somewhat like actress Suzanne Pleshette.
Yes she does.
Kind of does at that.
Naaah, Suzanne Pleshette was HOT.
Minus the deep voice.
@@bravo3279 yes when she got old, Suzanne's voice was very manlike

Hey Grace…”Who won the war?” 😉
Dont you want somebody to love❤
She has the California accent.
Grace has a slight touch of madness in her eyes. That's not a bad thing.
I saw Her Live (With ‘Staeship in Huntsville,AL.,
Her paintings are just as badass as her voice .
I did WAY 2MUCH in “The EightyS!
1:58 "I sacked my own groceries." Remember when that was funny instead of everyday reality? Just another service, and job, that corporate profits iced.

2 small bundles of firewood today are $30.
Larry Bud's the best part.
She was at her best in The Great Society.
Maybe Grace fell for the old 'Olivia Newton John records naked 'prank 😂😂

Not the Grace Slick I thought I was going to get. LoL
Toast on a stick sounds pretty good about now. So too does Duran Duran.
Duran Duran? Surely you jest

Grace Slick, The one and only acid queen...aloha
Her real name is Grace Bennett Wing.
The seating arrangement is bizarre. She has to creak her neck to see him.
Lysergic “acid Dythklamide?
Yep, and Nixon should've been ok, with that. After all acid trips can be 'tricky'
You think she's the only one?
She looks and sounds like Suzanne Pleshette
I could tell 🤣
Gracey is just the cats azz...I dont like most female rock singers but Grace is just amazing presence
I could Barely hear it !

What ever happened to Grace?
I just haven't seen anything by her, since the 80's or 90's
She retired from music and paints art now, I think
Lost in a rabbit hole smoking caterpillar.
Proof or it didn't happen
Seriously, who cares? She had a great singing voice! Besides, who hasn't been "Feelin' way too damn good", enough to☔️ sing in the shower,🚿 have a little fun 😉 in😮it, too?😅 This is Letterman, who wasn't funny on Dave? Doesn't mean this was true?
Just a little too wild, even now.
I can't handle 80s Gracie. I love 60s Gracie. I'm happy she made a lot of money though and I hope she had fun during that commercial pop phase. We Built This City 👎👎 Won't You Try/Saturday Afternoon 👍👍!
Wonder Woman !

Spacy Gracie
Awkward chemistry between these two, LOL
Are you high again?
The beat singer , but nothing else.
Why do some women point out that they don't wear underwear? Too much info.
Dave brought the subject up. She did not back down. lol😂
