Also what gem was trying to explain was the active shreakers are randomized each run. One that goes off this run might not go off next run. You mostly want to focus on not setting them off multiple times in a single run because you will never know where you need to sneak run to run. There are areas like the crypt that always have some active and often multiple where it’s always beneficial to sneak.
does setting them off multiple times increase the clank? or you can just them off once and when the same shrieker got set off again, it will not add to the clank?
If you hear a empty dispenser without a ding or toot it’s probably just tangos red stone before he got the custom disc sound distance. There were long lines of droppers to move disc around to play ambient noise he never tore out.
Is it just panic are did half of the hermits really just not know you can shift on magma blocks to avoid taking damage, and since they produce air there's literally no danger?
This was very frustrating to watch, but ya impulse has a lot of panic while getting chased. A big part of the game is being calm under pressure and knowing when to run and when to shift
Hey impulse, these were some great runs, I’ve been eager to see your runs most of all. I hope you keep up with decked out and keep playing, I’m really enjoying seeing your play style with it. I feel like this is something you could be competitive at trying to fight for 1st place, I know you can do it I love to see that passion in your eyes when you do. I know you read these comments, I wanted to give you some minor tips that I think could help you get the most out of a run. While you look at the map, when you hear a card played (like ember seeker for example) you will see the little block counters go up, they are queued up ready to be played, the more the better. When they tick down from your map is when they are actually being played and they get released into the dungeon. Same goes for treasure as well. As for Clank and Hazard, after they are queued up, when they tick down you are avoiding setting those off when they occur. When you hear Treasure Hunter cards, or Ember Seeker cards (of your common cards, be sure to know what the uncommon cards offer in play when you acquire them) a good rule of thumb to keep in mind, when you hear the card played, just know that if you didn’t hear a toot, or a ding sound near by. Just know there are other areas of the level you’re on where they would have dropped and you need to go find them. I think you could have had a better time finding the frost embers if you just walk all around the dungeon and loop back to spots you have been before a few times. It’s best to try and learn where the ember/treasure drops points are and to keep moving around all of them and then back onto ones you have past before in case new ones show up while you have been gone. Some good spots to try look are the big table room downstairs, the drip stone area part the tnt room, and even the room in the crypt where there is a berry bush that you can loop the ravagers around. Those places are good for loot, but there are many others that are too many to name here. This may be an advanced level of play, and I don’t expect you to do this. But if you wanted to start to try and do a bit of what Etho has been doing, he already knows what the prices of things are (roughly) in the ember shop and he knows while he is still in the dungeon if he is going to be able to afford the things he wants to buy when he’s done. And that lets him dictate whether he should leave with what he has or stay in longer to loot for more stuff, this is a good mindset to adopt. Rather than collecting what you have and then being disappointed with not being able to afford anything when you get to the shop. So plan ahead Also to make sure you are always collecting your coins in multiples of 4’s I’m sure you know this, but I felt it should be said. So if you are about to leave and you have 11 coins. It’s worth staying just to get you that extra crown on your way out. Rather than let 3 coins go to waste. I know your deck isn’t the best yet, but once you start doing hard runs you should be mostly in the back half of level 2, with a small 1 in 8 chance to go to level 3. And the artefacts amounts are worth so much more (but you will see an overlap of the ones you have collected). So I would say, don’t spend too long staying on easy/medium. Getting the bigger artefacts will allow you to buy better stuff in the ember shop. And you won’t have to make any compromises on the things you want. Remember Tango very much likes Risk vs Reward. So doing riskier things will get you better results quicker. And one last thing, because you haven’t had as much involvement as the other hermits with the 3 phases. I think you will need to start buying the 3 packs, and even the 5 packs of Victory Tomes to get yourself points on the board, to keep up the pace of everyone else. You won’t be able to catch up if you can only buy 1 tome a run. Because remember your Frozen shards are finite each week. And you want to maximise what you collect with each shard spend on a run. Hope this helps, I really want to see you try to win this. Go impulse!
Oh my god, every hermit is spoiling us with these full length videos and I'm there for literally everyone of them😂Especially so late into the season this is amazing!👏
Twice you died by taking risky routes, when you died to the magma block in water the door to your left was stil open. 😢Also, when you died to the river 4 block jump if you cut left and took the shortcut you would likely have survived. I encourage you to watch at least one or two runs of Etho or Hypno as they know the maps and treasure locations the best imo. Slow down, try not to panic as much and have fun. You're doing great since these were essentially phase 2. What an amazing game, Tango is a genius. Love ya Impulse 💖💗💖
I agree with Gem. It would benefit you to learn/ remember where all the treasure spots are. You miss a lot of them.. 😅 there are two in the left back of the crypt next to the throne room.. you’re doing awesome tho! You duped that ravager like a BOSS! 👍🏻
Impulse's success in Decked Out cannot be measured in tomes or how his deck was built up, it's measured in how many beards he has left at the end of the day...
Lol all the hermits need a bootcamp of sorts where you simulate not just the parkour and compass drops but the stress as well. Just have "the Gem of Shame" shout insults at you while you try and throw a compass on the ground while doing dripleaf parkour
Hey Impulse, something that I noticed is you are going fast in the dungeon. The most successful runs are done when the hermits slow down and crouch a lot. I have watched almost everyone and Tango’s perspective too. And that is what I noticed. Slow and steady wins the dungeon. Now I could be wrong and it just looks like you running through the dungeon. In any case, happy to see some runs from you 😊
Ooof the panic really gets ya. I honestly would probably react similarly though. 😂 I still sometimes panic when fighting creepers in full netherite. It doesn’t kill me but the panic makes me miss haha!
I don’t think repetition alone is key to success. I think it’s analysis of past fails that reveal where and how one can improve. So far, as I see it, there’s a few areas in which to evaluate. Ravager locating and placing: Zeroing in on where each ravager is within the dungeon and wrangling them into positions that can be avoided or bypassed completely is key to safe, simple, and quick traversal. It doesn’t do much good to get past one going in if he kills you on your way back. Really examine the dungeon paths for ravager locations that can be easily maneuvered around and wrangle your ravagers into those positions. Looking forward but thinking backwards: Are you being aware of your retreat paths and safe zones as you move into each new tunnel or room? Ask, is there a path to loop ravagers nearby? Is it blocked by hazard, where will I go if it is? Preparing for the worst case each step in the dungeon will reduce risk and avoid the chance of you running into other hazards or ravagers in your retreat. Additionally, identify the dead ends and hazards nearby and really highlight them in your mind. Never wander into one without knowing for a fact you are alone in the immediate area. Nothing is worse than being cornered or failing a jump because of panic. Know your exit paths and even practice traveling them if necessary to avoid tripping up on hazards. Knowing sound ques: Those sound ques are HUGE in helping you traverse the dungeon effectively. Are you using them to inform you of how things are going and where things are? The heart beat tells you how much longer you may have in the dungeon sure but that’s half the battle. Players walking over and munching on berries while sitting on active shriekers uses up valuable clank block and time unnecessarily. Are you ignoring them too much? Too often, hermits pay little to no mind to the active shriekers and where they are and it can dramatically shrink the spoils of a dungeon run because they had to leave too soon to avoid max clank. Also, the que for hazards going up can tell you how hard the dungeon is getting to traverse and help you keep an eye out for those new hazards popping up.
You’ve got this. It’s a fun game to play and watch. I’m in awe of Tango’s redstone systems. I’m sorry chat isn’t more supportive-I think most of them don’t use emojis correctly, or at least how us, cough, older adults would use them. For instance, my kids say a face palm emoji translates more to “oh, dang it!” and not the “oh, stupid mistake” that our generation would have interpreted an actual face palm. Kids these days. LOL I enjoy your videos!
Block clank and hazard as much as possible to buy yourself time for treasure seeking. Hazard kills. And treasure drops stop at max clank, so keeping clank down increases possibility of treasure.
I hate that your so apologetic about "not being great" you dont get that it is ok to be learning! we loved watching others go from suck to good/great and now we are loving watching you make that same transition!!!
Thank you for these! We know you are learning the dungeon. You got this. In no time you will be finding your artifact! Yay! Don't hug to many ravagers!
At about the 23 minute mark, when you go "oh, there are two Ravagers there" I just bust out laughing. Yeah they're the same two Ravagers you ran away from 30 seconds earlier. I don't think a lot of hermits fully comprehend yet that the two entrances are directly across from one another. If you look real close (or zoom) you'll see the other doorway regardless of which side you come in from.
Decked Out is like Phasmophobia--there's a learning curve. Look at how far you've come with Phasmophobia, playing on nightmare and insanity all the time now; you'll master Decked Out, too. The map can tell you things like whether you have enough clank block ready to protect you that you can be a little reckless with bouncing over shriekers. It also tells you how many cards you have left to play, which can help you decide if you want to do some treasure hunting or if you need to think about getting out.
I feel like you're being to hard on yourself impy. You're doing so good and I'd do the same thing you do, maybe even worse lol. You're doing great dude, I hope you have all the fun as much as I have fun watching you running the dungeon
Impulse, I'd like to say that you're not getting frost embers because you're not looking for them. You focus on only following one path, getting your artifact and immediately getting out when your heartbeat is safe and you still have cards to play. You won't be able to get much of anything if you're too anxious to explore and the dungeon is not going to give you everything you're capable of getting on your way out. There are about 20 treasure/ember (19 if you don't have jump boost) drop locations across lvl 1. You can't claim you're not getting anything when you're not actively exploring nor listening to note blocks.
Do you mean when they say "juke" in regards to the ravagers? To juke is to "turn or bend quickly to avoid someone or something" or to "mislead an opponent". Hopefully this what you were asking. 😊
You can't think of ravagers as beings. They're pathing algorithms and state machines. Getting closer had no impact. The pathing algo selected a direction from point to point ignoring the hit box size. The game deals with this by retaining the component of the movement vector that is unobstructed. E.g. they "slide" against the wall. So, you had an obstructed path with a small "slide" with the state "aggro'd". The solution? Try to maximize the slide, which you did, but keep your distance for when it breaks free, and _most importantly_, be patient and stay calm. You're in control and have time.
Watching all these hermits fruitless searching the basement for keys with the knowledge that Tango probably forgot to fill the droppers down there for the whole week. It's just sad.
Just wondering why Impulse never goes through the nearest exit on the right side of the big ice circle when trying to exit the dungeon and keeps going to the left door which is the far way around to the exit, it has caused him to lose the run on multiple occasions. Maybe his map knowledge of level 1 isn't as good as he thought? I really want him to win his runs 😅 also, please shift on magma block 😂
I watch your streams on your second channel good videos you were one of my favorite RUclipsrs but you know you can relax and not use your RUclipsr voice you’re gonna lose your voice eventually and you can just relax people like you’re calling voice just wanted to let you know hopefully you see this message and it makes you feel better
Pico Park with JITS, ZITS or GiGGS (Gem is the other G) would be hilarious......4 of you idiots trying to work together to pass a level. Scar, Skizz and Tango would be the most disruptive, Tango because it will take him 3 months to understand the game 🤣
I don't think your deck supports going to level 2. You have like 3 cards left before you get onto level 2. It seems like getting all the ember cards, then treasure cards, then sneak cards before going to level 2. Granted, I'm just a guy on the internet with an opinion.
Wow, impulse plays easy and gets 18 frost embers. Hypno plays hard and only gets 20... yea I still stick to my comment on his channel about staying at level 1 with frost ember drops. So much better than hard. Should only play easy or deadly to be honest 🤔😂
Getting ember seeker is not that wise , in early deck bui.iding , cause most of the time ur so scared about clank getting high , that u just ignored ur ember seeker , in the last run 3 ember seeker cards were played that's 6 ember , but u just got 1 , while if u had gotten a sneak that would have given u some time To go and look for the 4 ember
Impulse please, we want you to have fun and succeed so ya gotta slow it down and pay attention to your surroundings my guy. You’re running around blindly way too much and ravs are biting you in the butt for it. Keep that head on a swivel and prioritize your safety. Does no good to find the artifact location if you can’t acquire it because a ravager is on your bum.
1:00:17 aww we can hear the Gem/Etho introduction happening in the background! nice bonus

If Tango has hoppers under the end room ravager chamber, this is the most elaborate berry farm i have ever seen any one build.
He has; he actually showed that on stream and said exactly that: Op berry farm😜
If you hear a empty dispenser without a ding or toot it’s probably just tangos red stone before he got the custom disc sound distance. There were long lines of droppers to move disc around to play ambient noise he never tore out.
It’s hazard chance dispensers that have already triggered dry firing
A little tip with level 2: if you say "Gem is great" before you start your run, you will get a key much quicker.
it also helps to just be Etho
Is it just panic are did half of the hermits really just not know you can shift on magma blocks to avoid taking damage, and since they produce air there's literally no danger?
It's definitely a panic thing. My first instinct in that situation would be similar. This game is almost perfect at not letting you think clearly

I think some hermits didn’t know and some hermits panicked. I would say that impulse is in team panicked
For people that play Minecraft as part of their job you would think they would know this stuff? Perhaps recording brain + panicking

Gem is the cutest
Starting the video but a little concerned that 18 runs only took just over an hour...
