This was their first collab together so it's insane how good this is, even moreso when you consider that Halocene is in Arizona, Lauren in Canada and Vi is in Brazil and they did this completely remotely. Their Toxicity and then Aerials covers somehow even get progressively better.

Halocene is still unsigned and they are currently on tour in Europe on their on money. Huge props to them from going out and killing it

I know this is an old video, but now that you have discovered Dan Vasc, he does one of the best cover of this song I have ever heard.

So glad you enjoyed it. Next to their enter Sandman collab this is my favorite.

This was my introduction into these three girls. I was like, did they cover one of the hardest songs? They did such an amazing job.

Some bands remain independent by choice. Halocene and Liliac are two such bands.

This was my introduction to Halocene and Lauren Babic, I'd been following Violet for a while, then she did this collab with them, the beginning of the HCU. Toxicity and Aerials are must watch covers too. Halocene remain unsigned, they are choosing to stay that way.

One of the main reasons to get signed is to get a support matrix to promote you. Halocene seem to have cracked that on their own to an extent now (although the joke is that the Twitch subs and Patreons are the record label). If you're signed, they take some of your freedom and a cut of what you make. Violet had a really bad experience with being signed that she spoke about recently. Given Halocene are now on an EU leg of their tour without needing a label, I'd argue a label really isn't needed now.
Also look at bands like Against the Current that have left being part of a label and are now releasing an album themselves. Modern streaming platforms combined with RUclips etc mean a label is probably not as important as it once was (when you needed it to get radio airtime to promote yourself).
