Been looking at these headphones for a while now and this is one kf the better no-nonsense reviews I've come across. Thanks for reviewing them! Think I'll be getting these to replace my Hifiman HE400i ver. 2020 and the Bose NCH 700, since I want a real upgrade from my Hifimans but still want the convenience of wireless (since I don't really use the HE400i much at all since getting the Bose), and the Maxwell seems to be the only headphone that does literally everything (except ANC, but that I can live without) and is gonna be an upgrade without breaking the bank subbed!
The Xbox version works all 4 major platforms. The only thing you will be loosing out is Dolby on PlayStation and Nintendo, because they don't support it. You can still use Tempest Audio on the the Maxwell if you enable it though the settings of the PS5. Tempest Audio works with any headphones, because it's a software DSP correction tool that lives in the PS5.
@@Gome.o If money isn't the issue, I would go with the Xbox version depending on what version of Apple products you have in order to enable the Dolby Atmos. I wouldn't get it if your not planning to use the transmitter the entire time, because Apple products don't support the ldac codec.
Thanks for the guidance@@richardwarner4585 ! Money not an issue. Doing research now into Tempest vs Dolby and it's compatibly with mac but I suspect pretty everything that isn't sony/ps5 likely uses Dolby, is that right?
When you say it's great for music, particular what kind of music are you listening to? Your comment on the bass gives me the impression it would not be great for techo/house or electronic music with bass heavy elements?
Saying the headphones is better for music was a generized statement in comparison to gameing. The bass is more quality over quantity which can leave people wanting more for electronic music. It was more about how I didn't like them for gaming than it was about music in general. Sorry for any confusion.
@@LosslessHearing No need to be sorry, that's what the comment section is all about! I'm curious if you could do some testing on my behalf. My understanding is there is a 'bass boost' EQ setting that might then make this a headphone suitable for people who listen to electronic music. Would you mind testing this and letting me know your thoughts? Let me know if you need specific bass heavy track recommendations to test.
I updated my reveiw in description. I used Token, Sik World, and Ghost Data as references. If you have any artists you love, I will be more than happy to try them out. Im always looking for more music
@@LosslessHearing I now have a list of bass-heavy tracks for you. Let me know what your impressions are: * Lorn - Mercy * Au5 - Blossom (test texture) * Bad Computer - Clarity (test the overall mix) * Mak0 - Germination * Koan Sound - Strident * Sorrow - Draguta * Ekcle - Totemfire * Audeka - Dope Day in the Neighborhood * Joe Ford - Frozen Sound * OddKidOut - MIND/$ * Medusa - GRiZ (ft. Planar magnetic drivers are EXTREMELY sensitive, if you press the cups when there is air inside they damage, If you press them with your finger or ear they will be damaged, if you drop the headset pray that the drivers remain intact.
Great channel and video , comparing this to Epos H6pro ? And is it that heavy to be uncomfortable for at least one hour of gaming ? Mainly for FPS , then movies then music . Thanks 🙏🏼
Is it possible to customise EQ settings with the ps5? I mean if ill use them on the ps5 will the eq settings i am changing on the app will save to the headset itself? Thanks for the video
I think he meant they are good for immersive gaming (and I can attest to this) but if you're looking for accuracy (i.e. hunting those MF'ers down that done said those things about your mee-maa in the lobby) for pin-pointing gun-shots and foot steps, then this headphone isn't the best for that.

Which one would you recommend getting between the xbox and ps5 version if I plan on using this with a MacBook and iPhone exclusively?

Can i use different EQ settings if i use them on the ps5? Does it saves the eq to the headset itself?
@@tercian88 Yes EQ's saves to the headset and you can use them on any platform.

It’s fine for 2+hours
Hey @lossless hearing would you be able to provide me with a link to the keyboard you are using on this video?
Thank you !
It's a glorious GMMK2 96% keyboard. I got the keycaps off of Etsy, but it appears they are no longer available.
I just bought a pair, I’m
Nervous now that you said they are just Ok for gaming. I’m coming from EPOS H6pro closed
How did it go?

If you get the app on your phone and set up an eq, it will save it to the headset so you can use the eq on ps5.

Wait so they suck for gaming but are the best for gaming? You contradicted yourself.
