Harbor Freight has excellent magnetic rollers to pickup stray nails and metal from your pastures. I use them all the time on gardening projects.

This is my first year homesteading/farming and I think my list of failed projects is bigger then my accomplished projects LOL. We lost our entire garden to frost but homesteading/farming is all about learning and self teaching there is no course that can teach you how to homestead/farm LOL. Thank you for sharing your day with us.

you shouldn't take the videos down. Just change the title to warn people not to build it this way. That way they also get to see what NOT to do when building a rabbit house. Then put a link to this video showing what the ending for the the rabbit house was.

Just did a huge clean up on my homestead today. The weather was perfect for being outside all day. Extremely cloudy and not so hot. I got a lot done ( for a 51 year old woman lol ). Our pasture looked a lot like yours :) I made a lot of trips to our dumpster. I wish hubby would pick up after himself when he gets done tinkering on the farm equipment, it wouldnt have taken me all day to clean up and straighten up the barn.

Next time when pulling chain link, find the end and pull it that way as oppesed to scooping it. Drive backwards over top the fence while hooked to it. It will be easier. Also put fence or couple cattle panels around burn pile and use it occasionally. Friend from Northern Indiana.....

Rubik's cube is the name of that game you mentioned. Hope all goes well taking those pigs in, praying 🙏 the method works. Don't you have more pigs coming of age in the next year? Nice clean up though. Hope you'll get one of those magnet rod/rakes to make sure you get all the metal out of the horse pasture. The girls may like helping with that!

when my dad had lots of hogs we built a crate to fit on the 3pnt of the tractor hold 4 fat pigs or a couple of sows , we could back right up to the door of any of the hog houses or pens and then take them to the trailer ,didnt have to worry about backing a trailer into tight places ..

one thing I would like to point out that mite help you on the older tractors if one wheel starts to spin and the other not push in the brake a little on the one that's spinning it will make the other wheel that's not turning will engage so both will move at the same time or just put your tiller on the back so when your using the loader it will help keep the back end from getting light. The brake trick will take you a few try's to get use to

You should definitely look into processing your own meat. It’s a game changer for eliminating another middle man and saving yourself money, and of course being more self sustaining. I don’t have a setup to raise chickens for meat but I buy a case of 20 defeathered chickens for very cheap and break(butcher) them down to each part of meat and vacuum seal them for meals. It’s a great money saver and you can save even more not having to buy them like me. Pigs are also pretty easy with some teaching to butcher. Once you learn you could make great butchering how to videos that would be a good addition to your channel. Keep up the good videos! Always look forward to them

My jersey cow, who acted more like a neighborhood cat (no fence would hold her!)....fail. Rehomed...Donkey to keep my one horse company....fail. Rehomed. I could go on, but you follow I'm sure. The point is, all were rehomed and now in perfect situations. Next stop.....goats!!

As much as I would like to have rabbits as a plausible food, felt and manure source for my small one acre place, there is a LAW in Queensland Australia stating that I would be fined some $64k for every rabbit I keep as farm animal. It is illegal to have rabbits in Queensland - a law enacted at a time when Australia was suffering under a massive overpopulation of rabbits in a country where they are NOT native and have no natural predators... Rather than make an industry out of it the government here decided it was ow entirely illegal to have them. Also, the calicivirus (a biological weapon -The infectious agent responsible for the disease is rabbit haemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV), or rabbit calicivirus (RCV), genus Lagovirus of the family Caliciviridae. The virus infects only rabbits, and has been used in some countries to control rabbit populations.) has made hunting rabbits worthless as they cannot even be used for pet food now. Fun fact - those rabbits remaining have developed an immunity to the virus and are fast breeding up again... Bit sad about the rabbit hotel...looked pretty good but you mentioned from the very start about several of the (what became) failings and potential problems as you were building it.
    Blessings from Australia
