You became someone that the you that was still selling things for Amazon would be so proud of. You are an incredibly hard worker and an amazing person. You've got this. You make me excited to eventually start my own small business someday. I think you are an incredible, persistent, and wonderful person. YOU CAN DO THIS!

I followed Flag Nor Fail, a company that started in Rob’s garage 10 years ago, screen printing on shirts from Walmart. Now, they have a beautiful headquarters in Montana. Their clothes are cut and sew.
Don’t give up. Take the obstacles as new ways to learn. You got this!

When you have thoughts of failure its always best to look back at the days you just started, or even bofere you started and where you are now. Because i think youre doing an incredible job! The fact that your mom is also helping out means she sees you potential. It might go slower then you wished at first, but being to focussed on that can make you unsee how far you have already come and how many people are there in support for your art! Keep it up because I love what youre doing and watching in ahw that youre actually doing this! Your vision is there and glowing!

I've been wanting to start my own side business with embroidery and your channel has been an inspiration. Thank you for being so open with the knowledge and teaching us how to do some process and where to get our invetory/materials. Sharing knowledge is very valuable and I thank you for that. I hope you start feeling better and just know that the consistency and commitment you have with your business is what's gon a keep you scalling it and making more income. There some days where you will sell less than expected but that's normal. Enjoy the process and try different approaches or ides when marketing your business. I know brighter days will come because I see how hard you work and how disciplined you are. Keep the good work and may you be healthy! Also having your mom and dog as companions in this process is amazing. Both of them love you tons

Don't give up. You're on the brink of big success. It's always a big dip before a huge rise. The only time quitting is an option is when the passion is gone. Then it's time to sell the business. I have an idea for the brand that would work with those designs. I'm not leaving it here in public. Hit me up if you're in the states. No, I'm not selling anything. Just a business owner that loves to do what almost all successful business owners have a passion to do....help other entrepreneurs.

I recently started a business, and it's been extremely hard. I've been tempted time and again to give up, but one day I came across one of your videos and you really inspired me to keep going despite the obstacles. Business is still slow on my end, but I'm doing the best I can. One thing that a lot of people have told me is that it does take some time before things start to really pick up, but hang in there, it'll all be worth it :)
I can't wait to be able to buy stuff from you and support you! I just need to make some more sales and save up before I can do that lol but it's definitely on my to do list! I'm a full color and graphic fan, so I plan to get both!
Keep on being amazing and an inspiration to everyone. You're doing great!

Especially if you live in the larger portland or seattle area in the PNW. Pop up shops or a small 5x5 booth for craft fairs may help fill in those low gaps when you aren't handling order fulfillment. I’m from Asia, which means technically I couldn’t buy any of your stuffs since the shipping would be expensive
But, even if I were someone living in the states, I would probably just buy only 1 of your tote bags, despite your prints and embroideries are cute
The main reason for that is because I find it hard to incorporate your items into cute outfit ensemble which are insta worthy, and for some of the items I don’t even know how they would look like when they are worn
I would like to take the time to give you a few word of advice
    1. Take more photos of ppl actually wearing your items
I saw this black t shirt with a cute print of a girl with a bunch of floating candies, the print is cute, I would actually consider buying it if it’s in the form of a tote bag.
But, since the print is on a t shirt, I would want to know how the t shirt look like when it’s worn
Some cute prints are not suitable to be made into t shirts, probably because the print may be too big/spread out/too small..etc?
The beanie that you’re selling, I believe customers would like to see how the Bennie looks like when it’s worn, coz some beanie aren’t flattering when worn due to the way they frame the face
    2. Start thinking from the customers’ point of view, especially on how can they incorporate your items/clothing into their daily lives and still be able to produce insta worthy OOTDs
For example, I may think an oversized hoodie with a cute embroidery looks kinda comfy+cute for lounging around at home, but, I don’t know how to mix+match them and create an insta worthy outfit as an adult...it’s obvious I can’t wear them to work, but, the question is, can I manage to style it until it’s cute enough so that I may wear it when I’m hanging out with friends?
this process would involve you having a basic understanding of your subscribers on various platforms, maybe a lot of them are over the age of 25, so wearing hoodies with cute prints+regular joggers/yoga pants to college everyday is no longer part of their lifestyle
For example, you could start a range of fitted t shirts/crop top and have a cute small embroidery on the upper left side/right side of the t shirt? Coz this might be a lot more wearable for an adult since we can wear it with denim pants/skirts and still look cute enough to hang out with friends.
There’s this navy hoodie with pink wordings at the back, and I remember you mentioned that this hoodie is the best seller, which I am not surprised since the color and prints of the hoodie made it easy to be styled
since the hoodie is in navy/blue, I could pair it with a lighter colored denim pants+a pair of pink sneakers, this would keep the entire look kinda cohesive since the top+bottom are both blue in color, and the pink sneakers would match well with the pink wordings
Practice this for all the products that you are launching, think how they could be used to create an insta worthy OOTDs
    3. Launch more products that customers could mix+match with the t shirts/hoodies that you’re currently selling, also, maybe launch a few mugs/thermos/cosmetic pouch/planner...etc even though now you don’t have the labour+money to do because you could actually outsourced some of the productions. Do this mainly for the sake of bringing in traffic and create a better customer experience
I have a pair of really cute denim shorts, with tiny embroidered cartoon characters on one side of the pocket which I believe goes well with the aesthetic of your products
Also, maybe something like plaid skirts/pleated skirts would go well with your tees/hoodies, you could also incorporate a cute small embroidery on one side of the plaid skirt?
I can see you understand Chinese, and your designs are on the cutesy side, as such take the time to go on to Taobao/xiaohongshu/Korean or Japanese sites, because Asians always do better than westerners when it comes to looking cute.
I don’t know why, but when I look at the embroidered hoodie, it reminds me of this brand called teenie weenie on Taobao, they have sweaters/shirts/plaid skirts with cute small embroidery, often in the form of a cute bear
Because you’ve stated that the time line for production is 3 weeks, that means you have plenty of time to buy the plain denim/plaid skirt from amazon, then get them embroidered at some other outsourced t shirt printing company like printful/printify...
if the cost of buying the denim/plaid skirt+outsourcing the embroidery to another party is too high, then maybe launch only a small amount (eg:30/50 pieces of denim shorts?) and do it yourself
This is done not so much for the sake of getting a profit, it’s about creating more hype around your brand coz now customers can have the opportunity to buy matching tops+bottoms in your store
as long as you’re not making losses on the denim/plaid skirts, this would enable customers to have an entire cute outfit just from your store, and they would be more willing to post+tag your shop on their social media which will then bring in more customers
8 years ago, I went to the states, my phone case was a super cheap one from the local store here, i bought it because it was the cheapest one in the local store, I refused to spend any extra money on casing because I was planning to get a brand new iPhone when I am in the states.
It’s just a plain black casing, with a plain black tiny bear figurine perching on the top part of the case, in short, the phone case is nothing to be awed over in a place like Asia because we’re literally swarmed with cute phone casing at cheap prices
But, little did I know, a lot of ppl (Caucasians) commented on my phone casing, especially cashiers at stores when I was making payments. Since I had to stand quite close to them at the cashier, they got the chance to have a closer look at my phone case...
There were probably around 5 cashiers who asked where did I get that phone case that no one in Asia would care about.
So yeah, I believe as an asian, you have a slight edge when it comes to cutesy stuffs
You could also sell cute earrings coz I believe they would match well with the aesthetic of the items that you are selling
Also, for a lot of adults, they aren’t into cutesy clothing items, but, they are into cutesy mug/thermos/pouch...etc, consider having a few non-clothing products, just outsource the production to some other supplier like printful/printify. Again, this is not so much about making profit, but it’s more about creating traffic and to attract a wider customer base to your store, just make sure you don’t make any losses on the mugs/thermos
4.) level up your social media posts with OOTD photos of outfits incorporating your products
I have not seen any of your insta posts, but I doubt they would showcase a lot of OOTDs
Please do that, I buy quite a lot of outfits on Instagram (it’s a thing at where I live) and every sellers that I ever bought from posts OOTD of the outfits that they’re selling
No matter how good+nice a single piece of top/bottom is in the photo, without an OOTD, most likely I would not buy it
Yes I know, a lot of ppl aren’t comfortable in showing their faces online all the time, and it’s too expensive to hire a model to do it...
But I believe sometimes certain things like this is a must, especially at where I come from, Asia, where we’re being drowned in a market whereby fairly cheap+fashionable clothing are easily available
I was once into Japanese style clothing because of the elegant but still sweet+feminine style, and Japan branded clothing aren’t that cheap to begin with, I used to buy it from this re-seller who hosts live shows. She hosts live show only once a week, but, for every single one of her live shows, she has only about 30-50 viewers, but, her monthly revenue may reach over 150k, how much she’s bringing in every month is easily calculated coz she hosts lucky draw every single month, for every 500 dollars spent, you get 1 ticket for lucky draw. Even if her net profit margin is 10% which means she only manages to keep about 15k a month for profit, that’s not such a bad deal at where I live, but in reality I know she earns a lot more since I could easily compare the prices between her store+the price on Japanese websites... however, a lot of us still buys from her coz she regularly sells products that is out of stock (ie: she doesn’t sell the stuffs she sourced from japan immediately after receiving them, instead she waits for a while until the Japanese sites ran out of stocks and customers had no choice but to buy from her)
So yeah, I believe in knowing what your customers are looking for is one of the most important key to success
That’s all, I believe your store has potential, don’t give up just yet...leverage on what you know and the existing skills that you have, but still continue to improve on the aspects you believe that you’re currently lacking

@@stoneybedsole yes, it’s tough to run your own business given that nowadays almost each and every industry Is way too competitive
But, don’t give up yet unless you are sure that you’ve given all that you can and you have tried the hardest to make it work
And, always remember see things form the perspective of your target audience, or, the group of ppl who are somehow attracted to what you’re selling...
      Good luck

How do you make the designs originally though? before you digitize them and embroidery them? Do you just use Adobe Illustrator? Or do you hire an artist? because some of those designs if self illustrating them must take hours
