I’m only 21 so when I say “back in the day” people watch me like I’m nuts, but when I first started getting my nails done (at like 14), the nail techs would trim my nails prior to adding the tips. I’ve noticed recently, the techs just slap the tips on there, long natural nails or not. I guess you have to ask now but I feel like it defeats the purpose if you can see the real nails under the acrylics.

    • @rachelanastasia1977

Love your videos. From what I've learned, I was always taught not to clean my brushes with acetone as acetone dries out the bristles. There are brush cleaners that they sell. I use the one from MIA Secret. Monomer is a good "conditioner" to keep your bristles nice too. (After the use of brush cleaner.)

Ms. Natalie, May the Most High GOD continue to Bless you in all areas. And lil’ Sugar too!
You don’t have to do what you do for us but honestly, I don’t think you could be anything else but a ‘giver’.
That’s a beautiful aspect in you.
Now, that I’ve gotten all that out the way.
Can you point me to a video that you may have done that focuses on ‘product terminology and it’s use OR- can you do a quick one, one day?
For little ole me! If tell you I’m a sweet ole’ 54 yr. old lady would that help? I am for real but does that help me get that?😉
    Like what is:
    ‘Cover’ Acrylic
Wipe vs. No wipe Gel Coats
    Etc. Etc.
    Another question.
Thanks to you-I just ordered me a MelodieSusie LED dryer but I originally had a ‘double hand’ UV only-dryer that I’ve had for a few years (Amazon).
Is curing different between the two (other than time) like-does it affect the shine?
    Can you ‘over’ cure?
I’ve been doing my own nails for years but had stopped and there’s now of course - a difference in products and well-there is the Gel use and application.
And are you saying you can use acrylic foundation, non-gel polish and can top it WITH gel and cure? Because I’ve tried that and maybe I’m doing something wrong because after a few days....the layer of gel-starts to ‘peel’. What am I doing wrong?
And if you’ve covered that in another video-just point tha’ way. I just binged watched you last night but I had to eventually go to sleep.😊
Thank you young lady. And I’m a relatively new subbie and it’s my first time seeing you in make-up. Beautiful.
    Either way.

Mrs. Sista' Hello ! I read your comment and although I am not Natalie , I’d like to help out and answer some of your questions based on what I know in hopes that it helps. I believe she has answered your questions , idk which videos exactly but her Q&A’s are a great start to possible get the answer .
Anyway , here’s what I know, the cover powders are primarily used for the aesthetic extension of the nail bed and for covering the natural smile line . I have noticed they are also used to cover the whole nail . I believe cover powders come in “natural” shades . Like soft pinks , nudes , browns , etc and they are sealed with a layer of clear acrylic on top to prevent from filing away the color when shaping , buffing and sealing the cuticle after application .
Wipe and Non-wipe top coats have to do with an inhibition layer that needs to be removed after curing the product . Other than that I’m not sure what’s better or what other difference there is .
As far as LED and UV , LED cures faster and is “safer” due to exposure of UV rays . Not sure if there’s a possibility of over curing or what happens . I need to do my own research . Hehe .
And for the process of applying a gel top coat after using regular nail polish, maybe make sure you are sealing the sides of the nail ? I know Natalie has mentioned to make sure the regular nail polish is completely dry and to make sure to seal the sides or “edges” of the nail with the gel top coat . I can’t go back and read your comment while typing because I’d have to discard what i already typed but if I miss anything , feel free to ask and I hope my comment (little knowledge I have) helps . Have a wonderful day/night !
P.S. If you are interested in learning more about nail care , make sure to check out the Milady Nail Technician textbook . It has lots of great information and it’s the textbook that’s used for nail school ! :)

Thank you so much for the support!!!
I can definitely do a terminology video soon.
I mostly only use a gel topcoat over regular polish when I do ombré nails with a sponge but you have to wait until the regular polish is COMPLETELY dry before you apply the gel topcoat.
You can’t over cure, usually depending on the brand the curing time will be on the bottle.
