Great farm progress, this is very commendable work. However, from my own observation in my farm, mulching with maize stalks usually brings termites, Ile mchwa, that can eat the avocado roots. Does your area have many termites? Also, kindly heavily prune the lower branches of avocado trees.

Thank you....some areas have more termite activity than others, but we haven't seen termites alot here. Most trees are actually pruned, the thing is when the branches get alot of fruits, they become heavy and sag. Pruning heavily such that they don't reach the ground can expose the stem to sunburns when it is so hot, so we try to be a little lenient.

we make sure the weeds are either weeded or sprayed before they mature to produce seeds. With time, there are no weeds because there are no seeds.
