Always love a good mystery ADV game and the art style for this one is particularly appealing IMO. The occult/cursed ppl themes remind me of the Spirit Hunter games, which I also really liked.
Horror / Mystery NV games are my favorite in the genre. I can't get into the love story ones unless they are more involved with the two styles I mentioned. My favorites are The House In Fata Morgana, the A.i. Somnium Files series, and the Science series.
Yooo same! I love all of those, as well as the Zero Escape series, Gnosia, Raging Loop, Ghost Trick, you name it really! I'm the same with LNs, and anime. There's a bunch of mystery games releasing this year too! I am stoked. Thanks for the recommendation Noisy Pixel.
Since Square didn't really market this game at all, I literally just heard about today, by chance, on Twitter. People recommended it, so I came to YT. Figured you guys would have a review, and sure enough I was correct. As usual, thanks for the review. They're always the perfect length and gives all the information I need to get an idea of what I'm in for. Thanks for your work!
Chaos;Head Noah and Chaos;Child are great, from the SciAdv series and I played all 3 games you mentioned before those 2 and I'd say both are superior (with Chaos;Child being significantly better) Gets very dark, and in Chaos;Child's case can get extremely dark and depressing (even the true ending, was very very depressing too)
I just found out this game existed when I watched your vid. Square Enix and visual novel? Never thought Ill saw that combo happen. The game looks cool tho.
Pretty sad really, square has so many great IPs they could be making. Instead we get shit like forspoken and other garbage they've been turning out lately. FF16 looks amazing though but they also have an experienced director at the helm.
@@NoisyPixelNews SE actually does Not own the Parasite eve IP... and they had a dispute years ago with the books author who does own it. That's why nothing is happening with this IP.
I love my VN's even more my horror ones. This gave me a small hint of the Spirit Hunter series. Most notably Spirit Hunter:NG It's very intriguing and I love the way it looks. Is there a physical version? I'll pick this one up as it comes out the day after my birthday 😁😁
Thanks for this preview -- was already going to buy this game, with its attractive aesthetic and the well-known creators leading some aspects of development. But your impressions of the Preview build cement that decision. I think release date is March 8 on PC, but March 9 on Switch and iOS for some reason.
Square are being oddly vague with the gameplay of this one. Perhaps deliberately? Really liking what I'm seeing here, though. The art style is gorgeous.
It has something of Mato Anomalies and Heritage plus the grit of death mark's vita version... uhm... I need to check the developer... oh no, no physical edition!!!! what the... we'll have to import this one like with centennial case!!! Crazy.. they have all the money.
@@NoisyPixelNews yea I checked... this is material for limited run and 1 print games.. still production seams quite high level. And then Loopers which is also short and cheap came out in Asia so... who knows I believe it is more a matter of rights than anything
Horror and Square-Enix... Never thought I'd see both in the same sentence again after what 25 years since the OG Parasite Eve came out (or 24 years since Parasite Eve 2) Looks kinda crepy, just the way I LIKE IT! ;)

You have good taste

Thanks for the awesome preview! Now I am excited to try this out when it releases!
I think it’s out next week :P

This looks really good! I can't get enough paranormal investigation games 🧿
Let’s get more Jake Hunter
Oh hell yeah all of my favorites genre combines
How much voice acting is in it? Would love to have it fully voiced but it doesn’t seem like that
No voice acting
@@NoisyPixelNews oh no. Thought you said that there was some but none is a real bummer for me
Ahh I want more games like this! ❤️
I already played Ai somnium files, Zero escape, Danganronpa.

It’s really cool
Square exit actually has a masssssive manga section - romance etc that never leave japan.
@@acutelilmint8035 I know Square Enix published manga for a long time, but a visual novel game? It is come out of nowhere.
love the character designs
also love twewy2
Yay!
I might actually get this. I want square to get into horror! Even if we don’t get parasite Eve just give me something like that!
Pretty sad really, square has so many great IPs they could be making. Instead we get shit like forspoken and other garbage they've been turning out lately. FF16 looks amazing though but they also have an experienced director at the helm.
I like original IPs, but they are sitting on some great games lol

Thank you for the video! Just so you know Shogo name is pronounced with a hard g as in gum :)
Alright lol thanks :)
Is this game's dialogue recorded by voice actress or it just text?
No voice acting.
Looks great, but it looks like it would have benefited greatly with voice acting.....

bad time (Or gud time for horror games in march 2022) resident evil took my money this month. Nice vid, love the content.
Uh, you mean 2023?
It’s only $15 :)

Yea I think that has to do with the global release of the Steam version

Where are these kids parents during the story?
Oh they are a bit older, they even talk about drinking. That probably gave it the M rating lol
They are young adults. Parents likely left them to their own devices called adulthood.
@@pacer1705 I think they're just on a business trip overseas for a year until the story wraps up
Well Shogo is 25 yo

Interesting thing is...
The reason there hasn't been any Parasite eve for years is because the books author had a dispute with square.
