Beautiful...Thank you for this piece that tells Mark's story. I lived two blocks from the Clark family home, on the corner of Smith and Webster streets when Fred and Mark were murdered. It ignited the rebel in me... And my fire is yet burning today.
I’m from Peoria and still live here ....... our people don’t even teach us about him or the ones that know don’t say nothing..... I’ve been learning on myself for a while now but I’m glad I’ve ran across this video of one of our kings
Thank you Thomas. You can read all about Mark in my new book titled, Mark Clark Soul of a Black Panther. Mark Clark was a civil rights activist and a real hero who lived in Peoria and who fought for the liberation of our people. After 40 years, he is now finally being honored in Peoria in the African American Hall of Fame Museum at the Riverfront and at Proctor. I have partnered with a group and we have just set up a scholarship in Mark's name at Illinois Central College (ICC). If you or anyone you know will be attending ICC, please check our website for more information at: avtivistmarkclark.org/about
I have always wanted to learn more about Captain Mark Clark and thank you so much for sharing his story. I can’t thank you and your family enough for sharing your story as well.
