Thank you for the tutorial, I'm new to 3D and have been very confused about it all but your tutorial has helped so much. Looking forward to watching more videos
This was an awesome video on how o use Cura with an STL file. I learned more from this short video than I did from 6 other videos touting the same instruction set. Thank You!
Thank you for these tutorials on 3D printing. I think I'm more confident to buy an Ender soon. Please release more videos like these 3D printing series...
Thank you so much for this video! Recently got a prusa mini. Even though this was not using the prusa slicer I was able to follow your steps despite the slicer difference and complete my first print of thingiverse! The instructions were super clear and easy to follow!
Thanks for this thorough video. Purchased a download from Etsy to use on my new Ender 3 S 1 Pro. Followed your instructions and it worked perfectly. Kudos😊
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!! I've been for an accurate and easy to follow along and after what felt like forever I finally came acros video and it was the first to actually help!!! THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!❤❤❤
Thanks for the tutorial, I just got an Ender 3, very helpful for setting up my first print! P.s. I can't wait to tell my professor STL stands for Standard Triangle Language.
thank you for all the info, iam just starting so this helped alot, trying to select the right slicer!!! just ordered a ender 3 v2,is this the slicer to start with??? i want to download the right one,
Waiting on my CR-10 S Pro, and either so many ideas in my head wondering hoe to get started this was a clean cut concise little video, I feel like this is going to be a breeze.. thanks !
Thanks for the knowledge you have given me. One question. Can you have more than one file on the SD card or do you need to clear it after the print? If you can have more than one file, how do you choose the one you want? Excuse my ignorance...just starting out.
Oh yeah! You can have hundreds of .gcode files on the SD card (but that would get cluttered). You select the one you want to print using your printer's interface (screen or buttons).
This video is Sooo good! Just what I needed to get started. Thank you for not going in depth on all the settings. You are correct, that can come later, we just want to print something! Very well done! Phil
Courtesy! As a guy that answers hundreds of comments per week, I like to personalize my reply with the viewers name. In your case, I'd rather not type out _Domthebomb_-@@DominicAlden . Also, it personalizes the reply, shows I'm interested in the makers content. Is any of that understandable?
I didn't see ended 3v2 on the list to setup the profile. I haven't looked at mine yet but just noticed it. I haven't even downloaded it yet lmao. Trying to learn everything possible first to get the feel for all this
So if you have an stl file that needs supports put in you just click the support box and the software will automatically add supports where they need to go? Thanks for the help! Vid was great.
Make a custom one or choose the closest model to your one but note the one you chose if it has higher torque and movement you may want to reconsider the hypothetical printer option and choose the ideal one
followed all these steps from downloadin to getting the gcode file but for some reason my printer (anycube mega X) doesnt recognise it on the SD card. any tips would be much appreciated
I've had something similar happen with my Fokoos odin5. Usually power cycling the printer and deleting the gcode from the card and putting it back on does the trick. Not sure what the cause is yet.
Fantastic video for me as a beginner. Do you have a video for how to set the BL TOUCH in Cura for the right height from the build plate. I ask as My nozzle sits at 10mm all the time and I've been told you can set it in Cura. I'm brand new. Love the video
If the file is downloaded as a .zip file, you should be able to "unzip" it by right clicking and selecting "open" (or maybe "unzip") or by double clicking on the file. I'm not sure what you mean about "eject it to the 3D printer files". Do you mean how to get the .gcode files from the computer to the 3D printer? For that, you will save the .gcode file from the slicer and then move it onto the SD card (you can drag and drop it usually). Let me know if this helps.
That will depend on the specific printer interface and firmware. But basically, you insert the sd card in the printer, then select the file on the printer's screen and press print.
Hello just saw your video loved it. But I still have questions. Is there any way you can contact me. I really want to learn this. For I have knee injuries and can’t work and I want to start doing this to get by. So please let me know if you can help me learn this. Thanks.
How can I edit something I download from thingiverse or any other Site I can get a .stl. I Tried to use tinkercad but it keeps telling me the file can’t be more than 25MB and I don’t know how to shrink the file to open it or is there another program I can use to open the file to edit it the file I’m trying to open and make an edit to is 92MB and it’s a .STL
I just tried printing a model for the first time and when it went to print it pushed the nozzle down really hard on my bed and started moving and scratched a line down the side of the glass? What would cause this
But who wants these models, I want to know how to print the stuff I want, is it possible to copy of internet and print just like I do with vinyl printer, after converting to Vector
Is your printer connected to you computer via usb? I usually only use the "save to file" option and them transfer that file to a micro SD card for the printer.
@@RCwithAdam1 had a few problems with sticking to the bed, but after my forth attempt made my very first print, a twisted vase. Thanks for the channel Adam you have converted me to 3d printing.
@@RCwithAdam1 I tought so, probably just a few ender models, I'm using creality cr-6 se and it doesn't show. No big deal,. I was just curious, tought that was an option or plugin.

STL means stereolithography, but is also referred to as Standard Triangle Language
True.
hey Adam, can i use Sketch fab to replace thingiverse?
I have the ender 3 v2 neo and it is not an option in ultimaker cura what should i do?
So if you have an stl file that needs supports put in you just click the support box and the software will automatically add supports where they need to go? Thanks for the help! Vid was great.
Yes, as long as the Supports option is turned on! Except, sometimes the supports need to be modified if the software doesn't get it right.

is it possible to this on windows 10

Did I miss anything important? Let me know!
I tried to do that thing that you did with the zip file drag-and-drop and it did not work I have an HP laptop running off of Windows
You need to open (or "extract" or "unzip") the zip file. You may also need to use the upload option instead of dragging and dropping.
Does it also show how long it will take?
Yes, it gives an approximate time (which is fairly accurate).
How do you get into the software that you can model wotg
About the zip file, I am on windows so where do I get to the zipped files? Also how do you eject it to the 3d printer files?
If the file is downloaded as a .zip file, you should be able to "unzip" it by right clicking and selecting "open" (or maybe "unzip") or by double clicking on the file. I'm not sure what you mean about "eject it to the 3D printer files". Do you mean how to get the .gcode files from the computer to the 3D printer? That will depend on the specific printer interface and firmware. But basically, you insert the sd card in the printer, then select the file on the printer's screen and press print.
And for voxelab?
Just got the Anycubic Vyper, I downloaded Cura but can't find it under the preset printer..is there one I can chose that is kinda similar?

How to level the printer bed

what do you do if your computer doesn't show the print via usb, it just says save to file

for some reason, it just takes me to the download section instead of downloading it all at once. (133 files.)
Yes, unfortunately it seems that Thingiverse has disabled the "donwload all" option for all models.
