ተስፋችንን እንዴት እንጠብቅ? | እንነሳ፣ እንዝራ፣ እንቆፍር፤ በፍፁም አንቀመጥ! | ይስሃቅ | How do we wait for our promise? |

Now there was a famine in the land, besides the former famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went to Gerar to Abimelech king of the Philistines. And the LORD appeared to him and said, “Do not go down to Egypt; dwell in the land of which I shall tell you. Sojourn in this land, and I will be with you and will bless you, for to you and to your offspring I will give all these lands, and I will establish the oath that I swore to Abraham your father. I will multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven and will give to your offspring all these lands. And in your offspring all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because Abraham obeyed my voice and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.”
Genesis 26:1-5
Here is an amazing thing about Abraham and his son Isaac. There was a famine at times of Isaac that was worse than the former one. GOD appeared to Isaac and told him not to go down to Egypt but stay where he is and that GOD will bless him and his offspring and establish HIS oath which HE swore to Abraham. The most interesting thing is the reason behind this. It is because Abraham had obeyed GOD’S voice, kept HIS charge, commandments, statutes and laws. So GOD will be with Isaac and bless him. Wow! Today everything we get as a child of GOD is not result of what we do or what we are but what JESUS paid on the cross. HE paid it all, HIS BLOOD is fresh in the altar and ABHA FATHER is well pleased by HIM. HE want us to stay where we are. HE doesn’t want us to go down to Egypt, to conform to the fallen world. HE want us live according to HIS WORD. Our vision, ministry, business, family and way of thinking should not be led by the ways of the world but HIS WORD. Don’t go down.
So what should we do while waiting? Saw a seed just like Isaac did. Having WORD is not enough, staying is not enough. Dig the ground and saw on all areas of your life that GOD promised HIS blessing. Saw a seed of praise, worship, faith, and work on the things HE showed you to do. Never sit and wait. Saw and wait.
Later on when Isaac reaped hundredfold, the king kicked him out. Now Isaac started digging the water wells his father dug and Philistines stopped after the death of his father. Many of us are fond of teaching and studying the BIBLE like fascinating history book. But that is not the case for Isaac. HE knew he was there to make history. So he dug a well and again the Philistines took it. He dug again and they took it. He dug for third time and they didn’t take it this time. JESUS has dug the well of being the children of GOD, being Holy, being blessed, being healthy, being Ambassador of HEAVEN. But the devil tends to stop it in our life and also on the CHURCH. We shouldn’t stop by talking about it and preaching about it alone. Dig it by prayer, fast, worship and faith words. We should dig what JESUS paid on the cross for this generation one more time. Never stop. At the end, just like Isaac, the very people who kicked you out and despised you will come to you to sign peace treaty for their generation. Wait in faith and worship.
