My daughter and I watched this before our grading today. I passed and got my red belt today, she got her orange belt. I mastered my kihon kata by watching your tutorial too. Thanks so much for creating these videos! 😊
YEEEEESSS! Fantastic video! You nailed everything I DO NOT like to see in others! I love everyone in my class, and enjoy their company. BUT, I hate practicing with someone that has NO SPIRIT! My Que to someone I'm practicing with that doesn't have spirit is.. "Don't worry, you're not going to hurt me." Cause I want them to actually try. Do I get mad... No, but it's almost like an energy vampire sucking your life force away watching someone not trying or to afraid to put a little force behind their movements. It's also funny that you mentioned "walking on the tight rope" (9:14) cause that's how we stand (front stance) since Silat was designed for narrow bridge fighting. I'm also happy to hear you don't pass everyone. It's extremely important the person have everything you mentioned in this video.
Energy Vampire! 100% agree. Sitting through a full day of gradings watching these energy vampires is really exhausting. Watching the students working to their full potential is so exciting to watch and up lifting. It is what makes being a Sensei worthwhile.

Thank you for my new belt btw
You earned it!
@@ZenShin thank you 😁
If you failed it means you didn't pay enough
Correct. But the currency accepted during grading at Zen-Shin is spirit and technique.
@@ZenShin Spirit coins 🤣 why not? We have doggie coins 🤷♀
