In this video we finally get to take a look at the Mega Man X6 any% TAS! There is an interesting skip to the gate stages here but it's still better than all of the Mega Man X5 TAS videos, at least to me. But either way I hope you enjoy this one :)

Nah, Gate jumped into being evil all by himself. He wasn't evil at the start of the game, he just got lost in the sauce. Alia killing Ground Scaravich and letting Blizzard Wolfang die barely seems like a factor.

X6 is still easily my most favourite Megaman X game. Also has the best iteration of a playable Zero imo.
Okay... if you don't mind me asking... how in the hell is X6 your favorite over any of the other games? I personally think its the 2nd worst game in the series with X7 being the worst. Please tell me how you like it over the rest? I can understand if you like it over 5 7 and 8. But over the first 4 blows my mind.
@@D0ntTaseM3Br0 I'm sure most people don't like X6 and their opinion is valid. The Nightmare effects on stages, The insanely hard Gate Laboratory stage, The Level design, The Entire story ("I hid myself while I tried to repair myself"). I could go on forever. The first 4 games are arguably good games but there is just something about the gameplay and the soundtrack that just makes it so entertaining to play.

but i like having options to customize my playstyle as well as collectibles and challenging gameplay all of which X6 provides with the chips you get from saving reploids for example.
having multiple armor sets that are not terrible like what we got in X5 adds on top of that.
i also actually like the nightmare effects on stages if you can believe it.
overall X6 has many elements in it that i personally enjoy in games similar to X8 that earlier games just didn't have.

The tech Zero used to kill Sigma at the end is called a Reversal. It's where you turn Zero around in the middle of his jumping slash to take the hitbox off the enemy so you can quickly turn back around and hit him a second time. It's more well-known in the Zero series, where it's a lot easier to do but doesn't work on bosses.
I beat X6 for my first time not too long ago, and even though the gates laboratory are actual balls to play, i overall love the game more than any other X game.
X6 is my favorite! (tied with X8 and CM)
X6 isnt one of my favourites but it is waaaaay better than x5. X5 it is so fucking slow that makes me mad.
Alia talking, the water level, the motorcycle/puzzle level, lava level, the castle one.
Most of the levels have something that blocks your way and makes the game slower than should.
X6 is way better. Great video man
And also Z. Virus stage 1, which brought back the Quick Man lasers (they absolutely suck).
I've always enjoyed x6 over x5, especially cause so many things in x5 don't make sense. Specifically the amount of enemies that can block your buster shots, and how with the falcon armor you just can't hit em
I also enjoy X6 more than X5. For one thing, you can skip Alia's dialogues, which can't be skipped in X5. X6 has neat ideas, though the execution is definitely debatable. This TAS is definitely INSANE! Love your videos, keep on doing them!

It kinda felt like one would just admit they have bad taste by liking X5 and X6, so I welcome anyone who is willing to point out the upsides. Wonder if you will have any kind words for X7.... that game sure was something...
X1-X4 are the ones I "like". X4 was decent, but brought down by terrible dubbing, but that can be mitigated in the Steam Legacy Collection via a mod that restores the Japanese audio and adds English subtitles, so it's not terrible. But X5 and X6 were an absolute SLOG to 100%. I'm on my first-ever playthrough of X7 (the used copies of X7 and X8 I bought from GameStop never worked and they wouldn't exchange them) and I am HATING it.....I can only hope X8 gets better.

I'm with you there. It's in my top 3 X games, right with X1 and X4. It might not be the most polished of the X series, but I think it's better than everyone thinks.

I’d have to disagree with you. The level and enemy design is by far the dumbest of the 8 games (tied with x8 tbf). The fact that you need a different X armor or zero to even progress through the first gate lab stage is stupid. Not to mention that one frame perfect jump as well, and the nightmare phenomena. Everything is annoying about this game imo

With revisions on prior lists, X6 stands as my 3rd favorite MMX game, only under X2 in first and X8 in second. I know people don't like it, and you know what? I hated X6 at one point as well. But now here I am. X6 is actually quite good, despite the nightmare effects and all.

Not really controversial about your OP on X5 vs. X6. Over the time, there are a lot more X6 fans than X5 fans than you realized.

I agree with you that X6 is better than X5. I've been playing those two recently, and I didn't remember how much crap X5 has. And obviously, X6 has its bunch of crap too, but still, I think Capcom tried hard (maybe way too hard) to do something up to the mark. Besides, revisiting Duff McWhalen to get the Falcon piece armor is, for me, unforgivable.
Will you be watching the X7 and X8 WRs like you did for MM11?
you can get Zero from any stage, but you got to get to the extra section of the stage, so some of them are far longer to reach than others.
X6 has failed ambition, X5 feels like it's just going through the motions. And Zero's gameplay is really nice, except for that up special move in midair that makes you go flying down. (Usually to a pit... :| )
(And as for zero's revival, it's implied it's Wily's doing (via Isoc))
What surprises me is that there's a good handful that like X7 over X6.... that's where I legit have to question "how?"

so I like X7 over X6. I am not saying X7 is that good of a game. X7 is boring a best but X6 is frustrating to play. There's Nightmare effects on stages that seem to randomly happen and should not happen based on the stage select color. Gate's fight is frustrating. The red donut mini-boss. Trying to rescue Reploids before they get taken over by Nightmares. With X7, getting from point A to point B doesn't take that much effort. There are a few Reploids that can die but there are so many that it doesn't even matter. If you stick to playing as Zero then you can focus on getting the Reploids to enhanced his stats. Actually playing as Zero is the best strategy in X7 as his form of copy weapons is more efficient to use as only one uses weapon energy.
X7 has bad gameplay but solid level design and story ideas whereas X6 has good gameplay but shit everything else

I don't understand the hate for X6. I think it's a very enjoyable game. Sure it has some annoying parts, but every X game has annoying parts.

X6 gets more hate than it deserves.
The only problem I see with it is some of the ridiculous saves for some of the reploids and once they are taken over, that's it. They're gone.
So a 100% run of this game is usually frustrating, but if you don't give a crap about collecting every part, it's pretty fun.
