Check if you have other apple watches backup on your iphone, if so you need to delete them. go to settings on your iPhone. Then general > usage > manage storage > find where the apple watch app is and select it. Once i got my new phone the apple watch series 7 the wanted to do a Huge new update and it did. I could not get the two to pair and worked on it for two days and watched numerous video's and Nothing worked... Until i came across yours! The very last tip about going to the iCloud and erasing the watch! Once it was erased the watch immediately started back up and wanted to pair with my cell. In fact a pop-up on the cell said use this phone to assist in setting up your New Watch. I went thru all the commands and now it works perfectly! Tip: only do this when you have access to your watch charger plugged in! I started this at work to erase and it stopped halfway thru because i didn't have it. as soon as i got home and put on charger it finished the Erase and new updates and pairing! Thanks so much!
So what I ended up finding out about the watches that they lost the update so it needed to be re-updated again you need to send it to Apple Apple charges you almost $200

problem solved ! went to an apple store and they managed to reset the iPhone by using DFU mode and some other software apparently, I then restored a backup and successfully paired my Apple Watch !!!!

Pin this! For apple watch pairing error "Can Not Update Because Your Phone Is Not Connected To The Internet." I solved this issue by uninstalling the Watch app from my iphone and reloading it. After reloading the app I paired the watch to the phone and the update started loading. This solution was hard to find. I hope this helps.

It sucks that this is the only device in my opinion that’s not a seamless process to set up.

Just got the 13 coming from an 8 plus and I always had trouble pairing my series 7 to my iPhone and turns out it was the phone itself that is 5 yrs old.
I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP. I updated my iPhone 11 to ios14 and the Apple Watch app keeps crashing. I unpaired my watch through the watch settings and my phone won’t let me delete the watch app. Every time I try, a message pops up saying “unpair any Apple Watch before deleting app” but my watch isn’t paired anymore. And app still doesn’t let me open it. It’s the watch SE

My brand new watch series 6 says my iPhone 12 pro is not on the latest iOS update. However I just updated to ios 14.8 and says watchOS needs an update. The update page pops up then it goes back to the message iphone out of date

I bought a brand new watch series 6 2 weeks ago and I won't pair with my iPhone XS ... it works perfectly when I try pairing it to an iPhone 7 or iPhone XR so I think the problem comes from my iPhone... and now the series 2 I used to use before won't pair anymore... all devices are updated to the last firmware. kinda lost, apple support doesn't know either where the problem comes from
problem solved ! went to an apple store and they managed to reset the iPhone by using DFU mode and some other software apparently, I then restored a backup and successfully paired my Apple Watch !!!!

What about the 6s+ and a Series 7? Says it’s compatible but when I try to pair it says I need to update (but I have IOS 12.5.5) but then when I click update…it says it’s the current version and I’m all up to date? It just ping pongs me bk n fourth… pls help

I solved this issue by uninstalling the Watch app from my iphone and reloading it. After reloading the app I paired the watch to the phone and the update started loading. This solution was hard to find. I hope this helps.

You usually can erase all settings on the watch and it’ll start up as brand new

My brand new series 7 watch is not pairing. (This is my first Apple Watch). It stalls out at 'signing into your account.' I've shut both on and off, shut bluetooth and wifi on and off. iPhone is 11 pro max IOS 15.2. Batteries are both fully charged.Not sure what else I can do but call Apple.
