  • Traumatic experiences shaped Beth’s childhood and gripped her with fear of death. As she got older, alcohol and drugs made her feel more powerful and not fearful anymore. But one hit in college laced with something dangerous caused Beth to hear voices and spiraled her into a mental health crisis. But God had a bigger purpose for Beth’s life and opened doors for her to come to Hoving Home for healing.

Beth is my friend and her story is so moving and I feel so lucky to know her and think of my own childhood and be so fortunate not to have gone through something like this. My Mom was wonderful but Dad not so. He liked his women friends but didn't know this till I was about 19. Mom died when she was 67...and I was left taking care of Dad. I was one of four children but I stepped up and did for him till I couldn't. Dad went to Firemana Home at age 85 and Paul and I went to see him every other week for 7 years till he died at age 92. I did learn to love him again but will never forget what he did. This still breaks my heart. so sorry for rambling on but it just stirred up a lot of my own memories....
