I need help I am learning to do nails the same color you doing right now I did it today I’m just trying to learn how you take the polish off your brush
When I was in cosmetology school in 1975 (my parents enrolled me because I had half days of school my senior & they wanted to keep me out of trouble), went back and finished in 1980, got licensed, we never had practice hands. I went back 1984 when I moved to a different state and needed extra hours, so I took a brush up course for hours, got them, then took the nail tech class as well, we didn't get practice hands then either, we had to use each other to practice on or ourselves! Practice hands sure would have come in handy!! No e-files, either, no gel, no poly gel. This is a great time to be a nail tech!
It would be neat to see your technique and habits or preferences versus a nail tech certified more recently!
We for sure have a lot of new products and techniques. I’m glad you picked it back up and didn’t just give up.
@@natalicarmona I never really gave it up, even when I had to retire. I still do friend's nails and my hubby has me paint his toe nails black, then do skulls on them. I can't go a week without changing polish, which usually ends up in adding a bit more gel, filing and reshaping, etc.. Been that way all my life. When I was a teenager, my dad came in my room and counted my bottles of polish, I had 80. He said if the house burned down my end would go up first because of the polish. He's been gone for 15 years now, I still miss him calling me to tell me he just sent a card with some cash in ti and don't spend it all on nail polish and makeup. : )

It's interesting that you're supposed to dispose of the nail file and buffer after each client. I noticed that they do NOT do this at my nail shop. I don't even think I have ever seen them disinfect anything after each client either.

A lot of the nail salons are reusing things that should be thrown out after 1 use. Not properly sanitizing. Big eye opener!
After 10 years I stopped going to my nail shop after catching a bad fungal toe nail infection because of them. 1 year of medication and having to do blood work to check my liver function because of how strong the medication was. I decided to start doing my own nails last year and pedicures.

I went to cosmetology school in 92-94 and I’m glad to see the bead technique is still used. We had nail day in Thursday and hair day on Friday so we could maximize our time practicing on people. Great work

These nail salons are not hygienic at all. They reuse things they should be throwing away after each client.

They have some $8 kits at Wal-Mart, dollar store or CVS. I have been trying for bout 3 months now im not good like nail techs but I will be there soon. Just keep doing it and dont give up. We to shell be great. Lol have a good day maam

That was great to watch as I am learning acrylic application at the moment and having problems with producing the apex
Yes i have that problem and doing cuticle to thick.
Just make sure that when you apply the bead closer to the cuticle are you don’t brush the product down, just blend it in the middle and that will build your apex. Me REALLY gentil when brushing you acrylic down

Hi Nat. When painting the nails, Do you put primer before using gel polish on acrylic nails? I only put the gel base, cure then put gel color. But in a few days it chips. 🤦🏻♀️
