In April 1982 I was put into the Jalta Hotel for the last 3 or 4 nights of my diplomatic posting to the British Embassy in Prague. I do recall a strange succession of "maids" coming into the room and I strongly suspect the room was bugged. Happy times.
Ahhhh Prague and the video has just started...... Glad you finally came to Prague. Those first two doors are more likely inlet doors. You'll see the escape door later.... Ahh there it is... I've yet to locate the exit up on the street. You'd be amazed at how many bunkers are still operational in Prague... The hotel was popular with foreign visitors as it was the newest one. And it pronounced, "y'all ta".
That was pretty neat being a spy bunker with the hotel above.. Imagine having a meeting or guests you needed information from, they'd have NO idea it was wired directly to the bunker 33 ft below the basement.. SO neat!
What's great about the Russians and their buildings vs the Americans of today, is the Russians STILL build to last forever. Most of the Western stuff is built to force you to have to buy parts, or replace the entire thing. I remember a time when in America things were built to last. No more.
Yeah you know why bro? Cause it all comes from China. The building supplies etc everything. If they truly were “American things” they would actually be made in America and truly made in America not greenwashing “assembled in America” but the parts made elsewhere. It’s all part of a bigger plan to demoralize the American population. The average American is extremely fat, lazy and unmotivated. They ban the junk in other countries that they pump out to the American population like skittles, mountain dew, and plenty more, look it up. They’ve made it demoralizing to be a patriot and love your country in the US so in turn every thing else in the country goes to shit.
😀Hello... once again thank you for this educational recording, additionally close to my place of residence because Poland is quite close... Best regards... I wish you all the best :-)
these "old" bunkers are not as "old" as we think.. I would live in a bunker like that.. But I would want it 20-100ft underground and all reinforced concreate. like the AT&T communication bunkers.. I would renovate those and live in them.
If you're still traveling Europe, then the Regan West Cold War bunker in Denmark has just opened for the public as a Cold War Museum. It was one of two bunkers intended for the Danish Government and Royals, in case the USSR had attacked the country. As you might be aware, Denmark is where the USSR would have to pass to get out of the Baltic Sea! It was also Denmark that were crucial to ensure the US was informed when the USSR intended to install Nuclear Weapons on Cuba.
I watched one of your videos. They were not using tow lines to get the parts as close together as possible. They were under and right beside the connections. Somebody's going to get killed. If a strap brakes or the crane operators screws up..
Can anyone explain the zig zag hallway/attenuating radiation deal…? I know that having a right angle turn into a shelter can help to stop radiation, but when you’re that far down does it really matter at that point?
This is a ground zero bunker. Blast can propagate inside a bunker if you don't put in turns to deflect its energy Fallout shelters even want as many turns as possible cause gamma won't turn but it can deflect particles
I asked, in an older video a couple years ago, about changing the carbon filters and i got a snarky ass viewer comment about how if your in there for over a year you had worse things to worry about. So now I know they can be changed. Guessing there is a shut off valve then some disassembly.
How lucky we are not to have needed bunkers in North America since the threat was overseas. Of course some bunkers were built but not nearly to the same extent
Love how the Poles and Czecks like to point out how the Americans were the reason for the bunker. Did they all forget Hitler and Stalin had a hand in that crap show?

Ron, I was impressed that there was no noticeable water intrusion evident in the bunker. So many of these bunkers have water/ dampness problems.
That was a fantastic video tour threw the hotel bunker Mr. Ron. Take care and be safe. See you on your next video.

Very educational video , Thank-you for doing this video , 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
OMG! I stayed at this hotel in 1993 when it was very post-Communist. I had no idea it had a bunker in the basement.

Yup. Same with Germans. Everything was built to last forever. Everything was overbuilt and sturdy.

Russian architecture is beautiful. Have you seen the new Wagner headquarters? It looks so nice
like their Lada ?
@@HypocriticYT those things go forever and if something breaks it’s designed so you can fix it yourself for cheap
Wow, That's cool!

The operating escape hatche I first thought was a oven to dispose of a body if they died on the table 😮
Fan fucking tastic video and bunker, Ron! :) ty
For the elites of the day to survive.
Is the tour of the bunker included with the room price??
Can anyone explain the zig zag hallway/attenuating radiation deal…? I know that having a right angle turn into a shelter can help to stop radiation, but when you’re that far down does it really matter at that point?
Not really, maybe they were protecting against the upper floors being blown off and debris landing in the hallway?

So where is their new bunker?
