GREAT video, thanks loads for posting. I've collected Aurelius qoutes for years - so it's great to see so many in one spot... I'm ordering the book. For the last 44 years I've been a family counselor and Christian preacher. I preach only for non-denominational, independent churches whose only foundational writing is the Bible itself. I always find it a bit profound when quotes such as these have direct biblical parallels (as in specific verses that teach precisely what Aurelius is saying). He lived and ruled Rome at precisely the same time Christianity was taking root in the Roman Empire... one book of the New Testament is specifically written to the Christians in Rome (not Catholic at the time, that came later)... but simply wisdom for life and spirituality in their time. I've wondered, as I read his quotes, what influence Christians may have had on him. He was, after all, radically different from most of the Emperors who preceded him. “When you wake up in the morning, tell yourself: the people I deal with today will be meddling, ungrateful, arrogant, dishonest, jealous and surly. They are like this because they can't tell good from evil. But I have seen the beauty of good, and the ugliness of evil, and have recognized that the wrongdoer has a nature related to my own - not of the same blood and birth, but the same mind, and possessing a share of the divine. And so none of them can hurt me. No one can implicate me in ugliness. Nor can I feel angry at my relative, or hate him. We were born to work together like feet, hands and eyes, like the two rows of teeth, upper and lower. To obstruct each other is unnatural. To feel anger at someone, to turn your back on him: these are unnatural.” ― Marcus Aurelius

⭐️Concentrate every minute on doing what's in front of you.
⭐️The present is all we have to live in. Or to lose.
⭐️Let each thing you would do, say or intend, be like that of a dying person.
⭐️It never ceases to amaze me: we all love ourselves more than other people, but care more about their opinion than our own.
⭐️It's unfortunate that this has happened. No. It's fortunate that this has happened and I've remained unharmed.
⭐️The tranquility that comes when you stop caring what they say. Or think, or do. Only what you do.
⭐️Don't you see how much you have to offer ? And yet you still settle for less.
This was his personal diary written to himself. A personal to do list. He is a better person than me.
To feel anger at someone, to turn your back on him: these are unnatural.”
― Marcus Aurelius
