It's true Begum Shah Jahan the ruler of Bhopal who build this mosque in 1883 first ever mosque in Uk but Ahmadhis took over because they always backed by and favourite of Westerns. Otherwise there were a lot of Muslims who would happily look after this mosque but they didn't get this opportunity by the British government
There was no actual funding by the British government to the Ahmadi mission. If anything actually the Pakistani government funded the mission in the late 60s when they took over the mosque.
