Scavenge Space Inspection-mostly asked MMD'S oral question

Scavenge inspection is inspection of piston, piston rings, cylinder liners etc. Of the main engine through scavenge ports. This helps for detecting leakage from the piston and cylinder cover, if any finish jacket cooling water and lubricating oil pumps should be running during the scavenge port inspection.
scavenge inspection is carried out partially from under piston area and partly from scavenger receiver.
Preparation
Make sure that vessel as necessary permission from port authorities or bridge for main engine immobilization.
Engine stop indicator cock opens.
Engage turning gear to main engine.
