@Reconsider your position I disagree. At 5:59 it really only looks bad because he had to teleport to the spear to get the full effect of the attack. Obviously in real life he wouldn't have been impaled when he only barely got hit, but the purpose of the attack is to be a grab attack, so no matter how it hit, it will still be the same attack. I notice that you said NK missed with that attack, but after replaying the clip a few times it seems to me that the side of the swordspear hit him, but even so, it doesn't really matter: He was directly in front of the boss, and did not even try to dodge the attack that was a thrust attack aimed towards the front. This is by no means unfair because it is basic knowledge that he should have dodged there, he just messed up. He failed to dodge an attack, so he got hit by it, what's wrong with that? As for the fire attack, he did touch the fire. You specifically said he was next to the cheek; the fire comes from the mouth, and it isn't a laser, so of course he got hit. Sure, it wasn't a direct hit, but it is an explosion of heat bursting from the dragon's mouth. In real life, that wouldn't do equal damage to when it IS a direct hit, but it would be irrational to expect fromsoft to create complex algorithms for every degree to which every body part got hit by which parts of which weapons doing which movement. However, glitches of course CAN happen in dark souls, but it certainly doesn't happen "all the time." It is very rare that people die to a glitch, especially in a boss fight. As for lazy or bad design, yes, it can happen, but dark souls is widely praised for its boss fights, especially in ds3 and especially the nameless king. The only thing I can think of for NK is how camera angles can cause trouble in the first phase. There is also the lightning attack at 7:03, there is no way anyone could know to dodge that on their first time because it is so different from other attacks. However, that is a sacrifice that must be made in order to make interesting and unique attacks like that, and it is completely reasonable and fair to expect players to dodge it after they have been hit by it once already. As for difficulty and fairness overall, I would say dark souls is hard but fair, like they all say, but I realize how frustrating it would be to only ever hear "get gud," so I'll give a thorough explanation: Bosses do have an advantage over you, just like any video game boss, that simply means that there is a challenge, which is the entire point of dark souls (to get a huge sense of reward because the challenges you overcome are so formidable). The reason it is fair is because you have all the necessary resources to overcome the challenge. The game teaches you how to dodge every kind of attack, how to look for openings in which to attack or drink estus, and when it doesn't it is like 7:03 where it is just a new attack that teaches you how to dodge it by trial and error. Overall, while it can be very difficult, players should know how to dodge almost all attacks, even when they have never seen them before. It does suck that enemy attacks clip through walls though, but at least it isn't much of a problem. All that it means is that you unfairly get hit once, the first time it ever happens, then you know it happens so you dodge just like you always would. That part happens because it is very complicated to make AI try to position itself so exactly that it makes an effort to avoid hitting its weapon on a wall. Still unfair, but again, not a problem, so it isn't something that makes the game "broken."

Its funny, when i first played the game i did not know u could actually get into the castle, much less into the sealing, so i passes the whole game until i needed to save the master, so i looked up a tutorial and knew where i had to go all that time. The boss fight was so easy i felt like i spoiled the whole game.

My only issue is I use the milk carthus ring so I get completely fucked by any damage i take Of course Nameless King has the *LIGHTNING STRIKE* move that one hits me, gives no warning when it's about to hit..I had him at 1 fourth of his health.

Tip for melee in Phase 2, let him come to you. Let him charge you and punish and then back off. It will take a bit but if you go to him, he will rock your ass harder than Queen
It does that only when you go under it. You are supposed to stay in front of it's face , rest of the attacks are pretty avoidable. And during the second phase , just take the wind up time into consideration before you roll , the movesets are quite choreographed otherwise and easy to dodge. Takes a lil time getting used to but once you learn them you can time a few hits in between.
It's been changed, it does the attack if you're anywhere near its head. Also, if you're anywhere near its head, you can't see shit and thus you can't tell if the bird has simply taken flight or is about to stun lock you in a OHK AOE field.
Dark souls boss ruled 1.Don't get greeding 2.Don't be careless 3.Have fun and don't die. Also when you keep dying from a boss you will remember their moves and dodge them.
This doesnt always work the dancer is a good example of that i thought i had her layout laid out and she turns the tables on me every time its bullshit
I got the dancer to 1 shot my first try then it took me 20 more times to beat her. I think when u don’t know the bosses attack pattern you perform better

+Horror Fanatic To each their own. For me, Demon's Souls was the hardest one to 100%. Have not played DS2. DS1 was hard, but nothing too insane (heading for the DLC soon). My brother had the hardest time with DS2 and the easiest with DS3. He never finished half of Demon's Souls. And, for me, the hardest boss is, hands down, the False King Allant, followed by the Maneaters and the Flamelurker. O & S are hard, but every time I have fought them, I have won on the first try (still REALLY hard though).
The last one was your own fault lol You had time and space to heal but you wanted to finish him off like a badass. Healing, summoning sunbros for jolly cooperation; these things are valid options, not bitch moves. Unless we're pvping of course lol

Says he beat dark souls 1 but can't dodge the fire attack which is the exact same as kalameet.... The fire is easy to dodge. He's literally a reduced kalameet you shouldn't even take damage.

1 dragon slayer armor weapon + 5
2 fallen knight armor
3 DODGING SKILL BOI
4. Baiting attacks like a mf
I beat him on my first try but i was using a sharp uchigatana +10, with 60 dex. It kills him very very quick.

I think some people (including me) want to dodge the attacks so hard, that they are not paying attention when to dodge at all...(I hate delayed attacks)
I just used a crossbow in phase 2.
You need:
Lots of bolts/arrows
Powerful upgraded crossbow/bow
Ok dodging skills
How to:
Keep distance
Dodge long distance attack
Fire the crossbow
Repeat

Why's he using starting weapons and not good weapons? He had to have killed the other bosses and transpose their souls for weapons, either that or he's just doing a challenge
Kinda, not like the boss weapons were the best in the game... maybe Yhorm's for a str build or Hollow Slayer for dex but the other ones are bit of a meh
