Historical Shrine Of Peer Syed Waris Shah In Jandiala Sher Khan District Sheikhupura

In this video we will show you the beautiful shrine of Peer Waris Shah which is situated in Suburban town Jandiala Sher Khan of District Sheikhupura in Punjab Pakistan. In fact the shrine of Peer Waris Shah is one of the beautiful shrines of Pakistan. The spiritual environment remains here all the time which catch the visitors in its magic. Syed Gul Sher was the pious elder of Syed family in Jandiala Sher Khan of District Sheikhupura which had 2 sons Syed Waris Shah and Syed Qasim Shah. The date of birth of Syed Waris Shah is disputed 1722 and death anniversary is 1798. Peer Waris Shah was Naqvi Syed and your genealogy traces back to the installed Imam Naqi (A.S). He got his early education from the Jamia Masjid of his town and the signs are present today towards the north west of the Waris Shah complex. After that he completed the Curriculum of Higher Education from the madrassa of Makhdoom Punjab Maulana Hafiz Ghulam Murtaza (R.A). After completing his education in Kasur he went to Pakpatan where he remains a retreat on the shrine Baba Fariduddin Masood Ganj-e-Shakar and became rich in spiritual blessings. He remained some part of his life in Malka Hans Pakpatan where he creates his renowned book Heer in 1180 according to 1766. He is primarily known as the author of Heer Ranjha love poem. Waris Shah was in fact a Dervish Sufi poet. His period is from Muhammad Shah Rangeela to Ahmad Shah Abdali. Waris Shah is also called the Shakespeare of the Punjabi language. Here he resided in a small room adjacent to a historic mosque now called Masjid Waris Shah until his death. The present building started the Syed Waris Shah Memorial committee in 1976 and complete in 1983 at a cost of 80 lac rupees which consists the area of 64 canals.In complex 17 shops, rest house, library and stage for Heer reciting along with shrine building is present.The affairs of Waris Shah Complex are running Waris Shah Memorial committee with the corporation of Punjab Government. Here the thousands of visitors come daily which offer to pray and obey the vows. They distribute lungar on the fulfill of their vows. Here a library consist of the books of Peer Syed Waris Shah has been established where the books of Waris Shah have been put included Heer Ranjha.The ancient objects of life have been kept here to prominent the culture of Punjab for exhibition.The tomb of peer Waris Shah is very beautiful and has painted with the attractive and beautiful colors. A small bazar is situated along with the main gate of the shrine where the visitors purchase tabbarak and gifts for their love one on return. Peer Syed Waris Shah Urs (death anniversary) is held and celebrated on his shrine in 23, 24 and 25 September every year. If you have interest in history and Sufism you should visit this place.
