So actually saved ~7.5 M BP with the last patch only for 1 side. If u play and unlock all perks on less than 3 characters, than you are correct. If not, then you are wrong.
Edit: I didnt even calculated in there, that u earn now more bp AND u even get the newest character, ready to play aswell on top of that nowadays. So bascially, you always save a lot of BP with the rework.

@@MrOnePieceRuffy What I'm saying is that the prestige system could've been changed so that you 1. Don't lose anything when prestiging, and 2. Each prestige grants perks like it does now. BHVR fixed the original system's flaws, but it now takes 2-3x longer comparatively to get prestige cosmetics and perks, depending on what you're talking about.
However, it's definitely better compared to release, and the auto bloodweb definitely helps. However the flaws of the newer system are very much there, and if the newer system wasn't designed to make people put more hours into the game, they would've instead made tweaks to the original system, rather than completely reworking it from the ground up

However, seeing BHVR's blatant hypocrisy is definitely something which pisses me off. Clearly they engage in FOMO practices, I think they should embrace it because it isn't all that bad, but instead they lie and try to act like they're opposed to FOMO practices all for Twitter brownie points.

To give an example of what this is like Imagine if for people who were wheelchair bound they had the option of taking a very steep and very long ramp to get to the store or they could pay 5 dollars to take the nice short and shallow ramp to the store. That would be very cruel and I'm assuming you would try to help to change that because it's directly targeting and abusing the disability of someone to make a profit. That's what these manipulation tactics in games are like for mentally disabled people like myself.

So my entire time playing dbd (still a new player, bought it i think about a year ago and have played very casually)
For some reason i had a ton of killers and survivors unlocked. I had them all this time so...i played what i had. Most of my investment went into characters like Feng, Laurie. Pig, and Doctor. They are where my strongest perks add ons and stuff are. I used them to grind for characters that have less stuff. And cuz i liked their playstyles.
...apparently, a month ago after the alien chapter i lost ALL but the base killers and survivors. When i sent in a support ticket, after a month or so of slow responses i essentially got 'steam changed their policy. You had them from library sharing (i dont even share with anyone who plays dbd though...?) So now they are gone. The killers and survivors you jnvested in will still have that investment when you buy them again but we cant reinstate them. Take 150k bps thoufh as compensation for the slow responses'
...150k blood points doesnt help me with the 35 hour grind for iridescent shards per character to get thr ones i invested into back. Hell, it barely does what, 1/4 of a single bloodweb? Just a 'sucks to suck'.
Im severely considering refunding thr game cuz of this cuz thats a lot of time just.. wasted that i wont get back.

Maybe there's some kind of scale down when you're not that character or for making prestige matter, in small increments, their perks get better. That'd make prestige AND character used matter more. Latter is more so for survivors since they are currently blank slates outside of skins worn.

FOMO is probably the biggest thing to ruin games for me, I played genshin for roughly a year and had to quit a few months ago due to how stressful it is. Despite the genuine fun game that it has the potential to be everything is bogged down by the constant stress of time limited events that push you to force yourself through the main story whether you want to or not in order to "keep up" with everything. I hate that so many games have become more about "being there when it happened" rather than being able to pick it up even years later and experience it the same as anyone else.

I do agree with the idea that not having any progression rewards harms the community and different kinds of player who play consistently or not. Just having awards promote playing the game for something that can be used in game to show off or just to collect. An example of another game having this issue is Payday 2. The difference between console and PC are the progression system in the prestige system. The PC had something to show and had many rewards to continue to grind for more, while the console did not have any of it or maybe some features.

Honestly, I'm not expecting much from devs that recently lack so much in terms of transparency between them and playerbase. Like literally, they're not even acknowleging that stuff is bugged which makes people wonder if that's a bug or not mentioned change (like Sloppy slowing down healing downed survivor or Jolt causing survivors to scream) - same stuff was with hooks, when they silently changed it so hook screams and effects would happen when survivor just touches the hook, not like it was previously.
About that whole fomo, they literally didn't care to announce that AoT collab is temporary untill it was time for it to go, which is just so mean spirited, meaning to force you into buying it in bulk.
And that's not the only thing - they started using AI to generate cosmetic descriptions (apparently they admitted to it after people started drilling them about it). And I bet it's not the only thing that they use AI to generate. Considering how messy and convoluted previous tome was, I wont be surprised if it would turn out they started AI generating all their lore. Not to mention that their support is also heavily (if not fully) AI serviced (literally when talking to support they can ask for things they already asked for or they were given the info already, which makes contacting support just a frustrating experience).
And all that not mentioning that they started to force you to buy a skin if you want to buy DLC, to give it fake inflation of price. Like, I get it, they wanted to sell DLCs for higher price (why I have no idea, since it seems they might have reduced their staff considering how much they just left for AI to handle), but they could communicate that, not hide it behind "oh yeah, we're so nice, now if you buy DLC you'll also get a skin" despite that THEY ALREADY WERE GIVING COSMETICS WITH DLC PURCHASES, SOMETIMES EVEN THE WHOLE SETS.
Like, their behavior recently really feels like some chinese trashy mobile game company, rather than a game you have to buy and then buy DLC for. Literally, all they do recently feels fake.

You say its a change in philosophy, it is not. It is making that philosophy that has always been there more transparent. The legendary quote 'If you don't like it play something else' still holds true. This is what they really think even now. The way they do everything is indicative of this. They do the bare minimum to keep enough interest and keep the money rolling in for the least amount of effort. That's all they care about 100%. Not even making a quality product that would make better returns on investment. Further they know they can get away with it because of a lack of competition. TCM while not really competition as its drastically different still tried to take from DBD's audience but even they do not look good right now with their pricing and certain... mindsets about how the game is vs. how it's played.
It's painfully obvious they don't play their own game or if they do it's not at a competent level and they don't interact with people who know better. Like many game designers before them I honestly believe BHVR sees this game as an art project with certain design flaws as part of it and thus must never be touched or if they are not in a meaningful way. I of course refer to such things as Nurse, tunnelling, camping, slugging and excessive killer bullying. Players especially in solo spend way too much time uninvested or left to sit and boil in frustration because they spend large amounts of time unable to do anything. I agree on the camping thing too, this 'fix' will do diddly squat. There's still ways to camp and it'll punish other things that aren't intended to be punished. Teleporting hooks would solve a lot of problems and has been suggested a lot of times. It'd require work to figure out the kinks and killer obviously would need buffs but it'd 100% stop camping and significantly hinder tunnelling. They don't do it though. Why? Because it's an art project and such things are part of the 'aesthetic' that must never be touched.
Granted the tribal community doesn't help which is really 90% of people who give feedback are wildly biased and give feedback that is utterly useless (how many times I get accused of being a survivor main despite being a killer player with empathy for the other side is ridiculous) but you can still figure this out if you have a good head on your shoulders if you think of things from both angles. If there is gonna be an FoV slider, are they going to rework Shadowborn? Sounds like it would have to be since a slider would just make the perk useless instead of a niche, fun perk. Now I'm not saying to not do a slider, but they they would need to change Shadowborn so it does see gameplay.

There’s no point to getting to P100 then. The least they could do is do checkpoints rewards for every 1/10, 1/5, or 1/4 portion reached. Like you get something cool at P25, P50, P75, and P100

    100% agree, Das!
The dev's need to do something to keep things fun for long-term players. It is actually INSULTING that rewards for consistently playing (for YEARS) are minimal.
They could start with easy, low-effort things too while they gradually implement cool skins...like allowing the Bloodpoint cap to increase by 100,000 for every Devotion level. Or making the XP Boost a regular thing for consecutive matches (you are in longer than 5 minutes/ without DC'ing)
There are other more complex ideas that I have, as I'm sure the rest of the community has too... & they can SAVE money on their creative team by just asking the DBD community! Why would you not want your player base to be happy and offer new things so that gameplay isn't so stale all the damn time?
Not to sound like a Karen, but is there no such thing as customer service/satisfaction anymore? In dehumanizing players, the Dev's are just dehumanized, money-hungry monsters.

P100 on any character shows a pretty good level of dedication to that character. If somebody hits it, they should have all that character’s cosmetics available for purchase in the shop.
Doesn’t take away from ppl who won’t hit p100 bc they can still buy the cosmetics when they’re available seasonally or whatever, but the p100 level means you can buy old cosmetics, seasonal, whatever as long as it isn’t affected by licenses.
That’s how they could monetize it. Missed a skin in the deep rift? Hit p100 and you can get it again.

currently 39 survivors and 33 killers in dbd. BVHR isn't putting rewards for hitting certain prestige because that's just wayyyyy too much for them to do. I do agree that we should be getting something, but it'll take a while for these devs to actually make something so that each survivor and killer has something cool for hitting these milestones.

I agree the statement bhvr said about the p100 situation was very lack lusting and just choosing the simple so they don't have to work on more things is a bit lazy personally. It already takes a good 50+ hours of grinding bps to get to p100 on one character and not getting a special reward when hitting p100 doesn't feel rewarding personally. Hopefully they'll listen to the feedback and possibly add exclusive p100 rewards.

What I think they should do is make charms. 25, 50, 75, 100 with the numbers. Easy, simple. It would give us that reward, without being something major that would make those that don't get to 100 feel like they are missing out.
Also, how dare you call me out like that... I haven't been playing as much as I used to this Rift due to other RL stuff getting in the way, so I ended up just buying the last 12 levels of the Rift. Not because I didn't think I could finish it in time, but because I wanted to play for fun, not be forced to play. I don't regret it or anything at all, but as I usually have the RIft done before even the fourth page unlocks, being that close the end really stressed me out.

I think besides the unable to monetize from this. It would be really difficult I'd imagine to get a reward for every character. If even one license holder says "No you can't make that for Myers or Freddy or Definitely not Demo". I guess the people who P100ed a license like that are just shit out luck? L bozo pick an original character next time? I feel it would kind of be unfair to those people.

Not sure if you’ve heard of it, but deep rock galactic does things like this very well. It’s a 10$ game, there’s game dlcs you can buy for extra skins and stuff, but they make all event skins earn able, all battlepass skins earn able without paying a dime, I did the entire event pass for this summer and the entire battle pass for entirely free. I’m not saying dbd has to go that in depth to it, but drg at least gives us stuff for levelling up and putting time into the characters we like. We get new cosmetics every time we “prestige” our characters. It gives us SOMETHING. Games like that is the reason I don’t understand most companies, it’s honestly down to lining their own pockets. Just greed. I understand that drg probably has a small dev team and don’t need much money to keep paying their employees, but I feel like dbd is just going over the top with it and not giving us anything, I guess what you said, “crumbs”.

It is so infuriating that if I want some sort of outfit or to look cool as killer I have to use real money or spend HOURS grinding iri shards just to buy ONE outfit. Behaviour really needs to step up their game, no pun intended, otherwise I fear TCM and other games might rise over it.

the only time they actually put in a p100 reward was with the naughty bear skin wich YOU NEED TO BUY AND WEAR FOR THIS, and its literally just "i'm so proud of you naughty bear" being said. lame as hell. p9 is literally the furthest i'd be willing to go for a character, and even then i dont cause i dont feel like spending that much time on dbd. maybe when chucky comes out and i have fun with a really unique character that actually shakes up the gameplay for both sides significantly, even if its just because of size. but other than that or getting bloody cosmetics on my fav killers, i just dont feel like it. bloodpoints are an annoying grind that literally do nothing for you but give you cheat code items that let you mess with the game balance. every time i play dbd i spend most of my bloodpoints on killers just go get them to prestige 1 and get their perks for every character. its gonna be a fucking pain when you need to p3 every single killer to get all the perks instantly, and even then the general perks arent on that list. its very annoying. and then the survivors just being glorified skins, the only survivor i care about rn is nicholas cage and thats cause he has voice lines and a personality, and you have fun when using him.
dbd needs more character, less grind. its just endless grind. sisyphus wouldnt be that difficult to add as a survivor or killer because he already is in an endless grind.

I view the p100 bonus as having constant lvl 50 blood webs, but I also have never spent a time on cosmetics as I really just don't care. The characters could be floating squares for all i care as long as the game is fun. I get that other people care though and it does seem like such a low bar for BHVR to reach. My guess is they didn't think people cared or wanted it that much so after this backlash I wouldn't be surprised if they slapped some shitty parts of skins on the prestige track. Though knowing them they'll take that feedback as people want the bloody cosmetics spread out across 100 levels.

  • @TheCamo306
    @TheCamo306 Год назад +1

I disagree with this take ngl, not every player can pour all of their time into getting P100. Some people have other things to do, and if they feel like they are missing out on something super cool that they can get for free, they will be upset that they don't have the time to grid for it. I also don't think that The Rift is very comparable to getting P100. The Rift is a grind, sure, but You progress through the rift by playing the game and doing challenges, not sitting in the lobby spamming the Auto Bloodweb for the next 20 years. You can get the Rift Cosmetics later in the shop for shards, and the Deep Rift cosmetics are just recolors of those skins (and most of them suck tbh). There is also the fact that idk if they can even add P100 rewards for licensed characters. Especially the Stranger Things characters. They may be able to add some stupid charm as the reward, but that is nowhere near worth the tedious grind of getting P100. I am also confused about your point that BHVR is contributing to the shitty monetization tactics. Of course they are, they are a company, they are in it for the money and they aren't our friends. Overall I really think adding a P100 reward would be more harmful than good for the game, either making players who don't have the rewards frustrated with the grind needed to get a cool skin for their favorite character or making the ones who do have them unsatisfied with how lame the reward is.

    • @ReactiveDeactive

Honestly the whole argument that P100 stuff is FUMO is pretty dumb. Fumo (fear of missing out) is done by having something that forces people to grab now or never obtain it again.
P100 is just a grind that can take you a minimum time or longer. I won’t argue it will be tedious but I will argue it’s not FUMO at ALL. On top of that, usually the idea of a prestige is to get good at ONE thing and show you have mastered it just like Das Food’s examples of COD weapon camo where you could get diamond camos and what not but you had to GRIND the fuck out of that ONE GUN and if you got it for that gun then it shows you mastered that weapon and play style or otherwise you took all your time to master it.
That is supposed to be the point of prestiging anyway. Mastering that specific thing and then getting “medals” to show off your progress.
Hell even a silly board game with anime like characters has a prestige system where by playing a specific character for 50 games earns you a pin for them…and games are not quick and there’s over 50 or more characters in the game so they don’t expect people to get all the pins either.

Why have we strayed from games being about fun, and went into games being a second job? It’s Wack. Now I have to worry about leveling up some killer I don’t even like so I can get the perks because if I DONT use them I’m gonna lose to some SWF who has the new busted perks on their side. I really don’t get it anymore.

I dont agree at all with the concept that them saying they dont want to make prestige 100 a fomo thing is inherently a lie. Buying cosmetics is completely different than sinking countless hours into the game. This is a retention thing. Just think about it conceptually, new player joins, 2 weeks in they realize at p100 they get some great reward. 1 of 2 things will happen - 1 they will rush to P100 to get some reward (have fun spending 500+ hours to get there) and missing out on other more important things, like unlocking perks and new characters, or 2 they will get discouraged, because they dont want to spend 500 hours leveling up for a cosmetic (or whatever it is.) It changes how people approach the game, and could hinder many players from seeking out other fun aspects of the game.
That is completely different than fomo behind a pay for cosmetics feature that ultimately drives their income up and allows us to continue to have updates and new things to look forward in the game. People want to hit P100 for the prestige you get from simply having the title P100. It's plenty incentivized as it is, and while some might not like the response, it doesn't give me this "Why am i supporting THESE people" perspective, as if its actually somehow even important. I think that's just the growing sense of entitlement gamers, and humans are seeing.
Edit: I get the frustration about monetization, but you have to realize that these companies have to do SOMETHING to sustain revenue. This is not a new concept. Just look at the lightbulb - planned obsolescence or these companies would have died, and you wouldnt have lightbulbs anymore. Same for gaming. This is *entertainment* and the continued production and development has to be funded, so unless you want ads in gaming, like youtube and other entertainment outlets have done, realizing this and supporting it is really only helping yourself and the community continue to enjoy what this company is investing in so heavily.
