  • We talk through a NEW LAW affecting Tourists to a popular Caribbean Island Destination and whether cruisers onboard their caribbean cruises will be affected. This law used to lead to some tourists losing money in fines or fees, but now is punishable up to 12 years in prison! Number one way to save money is not having to pay any fines or fees while on vacation but this mistake will likely lead to something worse than losing money, over a decade in a Caribbean Prison. Well now, a popular cruise line is changing her cruise itineraries to this same Caribbean island cruise port. Are cruise passengers and tourists easy targets as travelers? Should you read about other countries laws prior to international travel? Should you take the word of fellow cruisers onboard cruise ships? Should you experience the local customs and culture while in another country as a tourist? What do you do when you don’t know the language when traveling to another country? Is international travel safe? This is the latest cruise news in tandem across the cruise industry where all cruise lines are making cruise cutbacks for cruise passengers onboard cruise ships during 2024 and we were surprised by what new law is affecting Caribbean tourists while traveling to the Caribbean! What do cruise ships do with passengers who are not aware of their surroundings while at sea? How do Cruise Ship Crew handle these naive cruise passengers? Are cruise ship passengers okay with cruise lines going to unique cruise ports and experiencing local cultures? We talk through verified experiences of Travelers getting arrested and this could happen to you while preparing for your vacation or onboard Cruise Ships including the worlds largest cruise ship Icon of the Seas or soon to be Star of the Seas 2025, and even the worlds smallest cruise ships. This could happen on any Caribbean vacation but unlikely to happen onboard many cruise ships whether on the Worlds Biggest Cruise Ship Class; or, the Smallest Cruise Ship Class and every Cruise Ship in between. What are your thoughts in our inside cruise chat on the new law affecting Caribbean tourists on their Caribbean Vacation 2024?

    My husband was in Law Enforcement, and when he took a road trip to Canada, he stopped at the US law enforcement agency nearest to the border and had them hold his firearms and ammo for him until his return.

    Im sorry, but failing to secure ammunition after using it is criminal. Maybe not 12 years criminal, but still a criminal act. Not a 'mistake'.

    How did their bags get through security at the departing airport? Did they not scan the bags? Ammo would show up on the scan. Even with no weapon, ammo is not allowed.

    I don't buy his story. After a hunting trip you clean your gun and secure all ammunition. How do you not notice ammunition in your luggage. He was irresponsible. We are guests in these countries and it is our job to obey their laws.

      Perhaps he's one of the irresponsible people that should not have been allowed to use a gun.

    • @hollypotter6989

      Agreed. I don't own guns, but I can tell you when I return from ANY trip and unpack I scour my luggage, every nook and cranny, for anything I might have missed. If this guy had loose bullets rolling around a duffle or back pack he is a fool. If a baggie of bullets he is dangerous. But if a box of bullets, he deserves what he gets. You do NOT make those kind of mistakes as a gun owner. Period. End of conversation. Just like wearing camo, if you are traveling to other countries know the laws.
      JJ Cruise and other vloggers are insisting this was a mistake, an oversight, but if he was a responsible gun owner, he would have his ammo stored carefully and locked in a case with his weapon...not loose in a suitcase.

      Yes! I have to say while I am sympathetic, I am not that sympathetic because regardless of where you are you should handle your guns and ammunition very carefully-locked in a safe when not in use - forgetting you have ammunition in your luggage is incredibly irresponsible in my opinion. Granted I do not and never have owned a firearm or ammunition of any kind so I don’t have a clue what normal protocol is. My only exposure to firearms is that one time the had a riflery at summer camp, but even then I opted for horseback riding. 🤷🏻‍♀️

    It's always "an accident" or "unintentional" when one gets caught breaking the law. It's shocking for some folks to some to hear of a country that actually enforces their laws. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. The value of Personal Responsibility cannot be overstated. He will probably have 12 years to ponder a better choice of hobbies.

    Everyone has to be responsible for their action. If he really is too stupid to not know the ammunition was in his luggage then he has to be responsible. But truthfully I don’t believe him. With all the publicity on arrests and punishments in foreign countries for similar incidents he and/or his wife should have checked when packing. And that is my opinion.

    Stop saying it was a mistake. That is what he is claiming. He has a cavalier attitude towards gun ownership and responsibility. Leaving ammunition in a bag???? You are leaving the country and you will no longer be protected by US laws. You need to be careful about what you have in your luggage. You need to be informed about areas you are traveling to. Example, there are some Caribbean islands that don’t allow tourists to wear camouflage clothing.

  • @davidjames6879

    There are constantly stories in the new about illicit items in baggage found at TSA or immigration,/customs and I for the life of me, can understand how people don't know what is in their luggage. I am going on a trip this week, and I empty the luggage either after or before trips to have a blank space to fill. So if someone claims "i didn't know that was in there" or whatever, I am unsimpathetic. And why would anyone need to bring firearms and/or ammunition on a vacation? What kind of vacay are they expecting?

    I'm really trying to figure out, if you're packing for a vacation and knowing you also use that when hunting, how you are not being responsible and checking every part of that luggage. With all the violence that takes place people could be planning anything which is why I think they are being so strict. I don't think a long sentence is the right way for this situation.

    Each passenger is responsible for knowing what they can and cannot do on every port of call. It is up to the passenger to conform and ensure that they meet the requirements and take any responsibility for breaking a law. The US is one of the few countries in the world where gun ownership is widespread and many countries take a very dim view of transporting either weapons or ammunition across their border. Any responsible traveller would ensure that all firearms and ammunition is safely stored at home prior to leaving and taking the time to ensure that they know where they are going, understand what they can or cannot do and make sure that they conform. It is sad, but it is also the reality of the modern world. Information is easy to obtain and to take a few hours to acquaint oneself with the requirements of their destination is not too much to ask.

  • @michaeljamesstewart1000
    @michaeljamesstewart1000 4 месяца назад

    Sorry, but it is not up to anyone other than the citizens of the Turks and Caicos whether the law is right or wrong. Just because guns are a way of life in the USA does not mean that is the case anywhere else. USA law stops at their borders. Responsible users of firearms keep track of every piece of ammo. If all it took was saying they didn't realise the bullets, or for that matter, a gun, was in their luggage or pocket, then many more people would attempt to take ammo or guns into the country, then say, ' ooops, I didn't know'. Strange how some people in the USA are so upset about this but don't say a word in defence of any Canadian who is caught at the USA border with the slightest bit of cannabis, even though it is legal in Canada. Chimo
