- Silesu's A Little Love is an endearing tune that was famously immortalised during WW1 when an Australian soldier, Ted McMahon, played it from the trenches of Gallipoli on the trumpet.
Ted would take out his trumpet in the evenings and play many popular music hall tunes of the day.
Surviving journals from both allied and Turkish soldiers recount hearing Ted's trumpet playing this song from the frontline trenches.
As the solitary sounds of Ted's trumpet once dared to animate the darkening silence of no-man’s land, this arrangement seeks to honour this evocation and preserve his message of hope and reconciliation.
LAC Christopher Grace is featured on this arrangement performed by the Air Force Band Brass Quintet.
Lest we forget.

Thank you to all the soldiers that fought in war we will always remember you for fighting to save our lives thank you for saving the world thank you for everything soldiers🫡
Ode :
They shall grow not old,
as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them,
nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun
and in the morning
We will remember them.
