This is exactly what I was looking for! Going back to basics is so refreshing. I enjoy watching creative journal videos but, lately, just watching the setup is exhausting. Thank you.
I keep wanting to get into journaling, but I'm always feeling torn between needing the prettiness to have motivation to use it, but also not having motivation to make prettiness. 😅 I think you just solved my problem with this video! Thank you!
oh this is fantastic info! i love going to the og method when i know things are too busy to set up a big layout for the month. its an awesome way to reset and regroup! i haven't read the book yet and im loving the tip of the icons for easy habit tracking. thank you for sharing that!
Although the beautify artistic pages are appealing, my bujo is fairly minimal. I use a travelers notebook and have a separate insert for my monthly calendar, so all I set up is a page for monthly goals/ToDos and notes, one page for gratitudes, one page for a tracker, then a page per week for a food tracker. Takes me about 5 minutes for each month and maybe a minute or two for each week’s food tracker. I do a title page for the month, but it’s pretty simple and I doodle on it throughout the month.
Great video! I was thinking about going back to the basics for August because my life has gotten busy. After watching this, I think I just might do it.
Good reminder that I should go back and read Ryder Carroll's book. Meh, until then, this is an excellent reminder of the minimalist style that I typically fall back on.

Most welcome! 😄 I've excited for my "back to basics" month, haha 💜
I have recently gone back to a bullet journal method much closer to the original method. I am enjoying it much more and it is far less time consuming.
Really love the true to roots practicality of these spreads. It's why I fell in love with the bullet journal in the first place. 👍😁
Nice! I came for the "aesthetics", stayed for how it helped me get stuff done!
It's such a great idea to take a step back and reference the original method! I definitely need to do that as well 😊
Love this!!! Love seeing you go back to the basics and explaining it clearly! Beautiful as always!

Sounds like a good and thorough system 💪💜
Thank you for sharing this Jess. I’m getting back to using my business bujo and I find the less bogged down I get in this is all the better for me.
Most welcome Meg! Yay for getting back into your business bujo! I'm excited to use this one for the month ahead 😄💜

It's been an interesting reread! A lot that I didn't necessarily pick up on the first time through 😋💜
Great video for a starting point. love it!!
Thanks Amber! Thought it was a concept that I was lacking on my channel 😄💜
