    Dear God, please let people remember Wood as political as she was. Because she did it with a small p the press seem to think she had no opinions.

      @@eccremocarpusscaber5159 As someone who works in comedy clubs every weekend (before lockdown) that's totally untrue. TV follows ratings and doesn't reflect what's in the clubs. After lockdown go out and see what's fun.

      Her name is felicity montagu.
      She’s appeared in so many films and television programmes. ( Bridget jones s diary) and lots of Netflix shows. 👍

      @@alwilfrid It's not canned laughter. It's a real live audience watching the show and their laughter being taped. Pre-recorded sketches like this were done on location and then played into the studio during the recording of the show.

      She wasn't an inverted snob. She laughed at the ways of every 'class'. Being from the north can give a suggestion of working classness compared to the south but she went to a Grammar school and a good university, Birmingham. Her ear for the ways of people kind of makes her like an 'every person's Alan Bennett'. There was a depth to her work, particularly in the mini-plays her shows would have.

      Victoria's school was a direct grant grammar school during the time she was educated there. That meant that many pupils had their school fees paid for by local authorities. Direct grant schools only ceased to exist in 1976 , by which time Victoria would long have been an Old Girl.
