Song for my father 15:26
The band:
Horace Silver (piano), Bennie Maupin (tenor sax), Bill Hardman (trumpet), John Williams (bass), Billy Cobham (drums)
I find myself humming his song hours after listening to his music. ☮️
billy cobham and bennie maupin... great musicians to accompany horace!
Like the joker said to batman: "where does he get all those toys." Magnificent music! I love Horace’s style. Constantly playing those chords and haunting notes in the background with his left hand on his own always lovingly melodic solo with his right hand. Awesome and unique style. BTW, a lot of folks don’t know Horace was the founder of the Jazz Messengers with Blakey.
This shit is crazy ! Been obsessed with Horace silver lately
What Horace Silver has contributed to jazz is incredible. Great clip. G’day & Cheers!
