For the slinger ammo it's the same reason as the above, perfect rush and sharpness and I'm running TA wiki rules which prohibited the use of slinger other than dung pods/stones unless the slinger is part of the weapon mechanic like IG for feeding the kinsect You can check TA wiki rules here : mhw.wiki-db.com/howtosolota_en

I'm not familiar with SnS but why do you clutch claw then release immediately instead of weakening it/getting slinger ammo?
