Good day. Thank you so much for the historical match highlights. Bravo! Enjoyed and liked of course. Greetings and gratitude from country Azerbaijan❤❤❤👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏
The previous year was a 1-0 thanks to a John Bailey headed o.g. Legend has it that on leaving the alehouse that night John was asked 'which way yer headin' John?'
The commentator mentioned the low attendance at the European Cup game versus Alkmaar the previous Wednesday. Liverpool's attendances really began to plummet round about this time, and some of their crowds were feeble and undeserving of such a great side.
@@johnholmes8178 Aye, Liverpool and Merseyside suffered way more than anywhere else. My father and uncles had to idle their days away on their country estates after the Glasgow and Clyde shipyards closed....
No one's saying the problems were unique to Merseyside, just that unemployment was the reason for the low crowds that you called feeble in your original comment. I would assume crowds were down elsewhere as well at this time. I'm not sure what point you're trying to make.

You are a man with a capital letter.
My first Merseyside derby game. Really enjoyed it too.
Brilliant atmosphere. Kennys first goals at Anfield in a year. (so relax Bobby)
Watching hansen here just reminds you how much of a royals Royce of a player he really was

Steve McMahon outstanding in midfield for Everton.

High levels of unemployment were the reason for the low crowds.

ALL attendances were plummeting, so don’t just single out Liverpool.
@@davidmurray5926 Liverpool were always #2 in crowds behind Man Utd. Even Everton's average was just 31,000 when they won the league in 1984/85.
Thanks Dave Waller, LFC historian.
Rush's goal an accidental handball?
No wonder McMahon binned us.
Puma boots everywhere
Meanwhile those not in Puma were in Gola or Mitre boots.
