The 80's and 90's were just the best for Wrestling. Once the internet really took off, wrestling just faded
Amen!!!!
George, ironically, was a very smart guy.
"Hey, look, everybody wants to touch 'Mine'" lol 😆 George's mascot.
RIP Paul Orndorff & George Steele.
He always reminded me of my late grandpa on my mom's side. Such a cool guy & I could listen to him talk wrestling for days. RIP George & Paul, miss them & that era of wrestling.
Such an entertaining interview.
RIP George Steele and Paul Orndorff....Listening to this helped me understand why Paul Orndorff (as well as possibly others) never got a run as an IC Champion or even a Tag Champion versus the payoffs he would have doing a house show run with Hulk
So many of our favs from the 80s are gone😢
@@spaceace1006 yeah so sad, a bunch of drugaddled abusive, narcissistic j0cks croaked.... 😭
Bobby Heenan would've been the number one guy I would've wanted to interview after KAYFABE died
Back in 2005 Jim "The Animal" Myers😁 visited my Church and led an evening Youth Service! Super-Duper nice Guy!!
First time ever ive heard Animal speak! i knew he had the character, but wow!
Always enjoy these interviews.
Jim Myers was just GREAT!......Now you hear the real man!........
Amazing performer!!!
So much common sense being spoken
one of the greatest heels of all time.... I know people in the 80s see him as a face but 70s George GREAT HEEL
I've never forgiven Vince for turning him into a cartoon character.
Actually, George Steel was still a heel in the early '80s. in 1983 George Steele he went up against Bob Backlund, in Madison Square Garden and I was there! That was the first of many wrestling matches that I went to at MSG. I saw many of the greats live! Bob Backlund, Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka, The Magnificent Muraco, The Tonga Kid, Mr. Fuji, The Executioners, Chief Jay Strongbow, so many greats! Fun fact: Big John Studd was one of the original Executioners!
Paul orndorff vs George Steele at wrestlemania 3 would of been a good match to start off the show since neither one of them had a official wrestling match on the card remember orndorff was supposedly andres backup and Steele was steamboats corner man
Seen the animal at the Gardens many times in his prime. Huge fan
loved George and the foreign object in his tights.
I think story line helps , like MR.Wonserful vs Macho or The Snake or the Warrior
First wwf house show I went to my sister bought me the program ill never forget it had George the animal steele on the cover eating a turnbuckle man I wish I still had it
Steele sounds like a Science Teacher to me.
Makes sense, he was actually a teacher before & during his initial pro wrestling runs. IIRC he taught high school English classes.
Actually, he shouldn't sound like a science teacher.... And, that's because he was a gym teacher.
He was, look at those eyebrows, I know for certain that he invented secrete rocket fuel.
You're very perceptive, George. The animal steel actually had a master's degree in education.
Very intelligent guy.
Gym teacher and highschool football coach in Michigan
Yoooouuuu!!!! Niiicce!!!
"It's a waste to take a belt and put it on a worker. "
AYYYYYE!!!
I don't remember Dan Spivey teaming with Hogan. I never saw it on TV.
I'm bipolar and I didn't know that Mr.Wonderful was too!
Me neither.
Gees, who would have thunk, Masters Degree? High school teacher? And from the Detroit area, how can you go wrong being a fan of the “Animal”
A member of the Michigan athletic coaches Hall of Fame.....I believe football and wrestling!!!....Used to wrestle for Vince only during the summer when he was off from school. First wrestled Bruno for the title in the Garden in 1968......
He was gym, wrestling and football coach at Madison high school where his wife was math teacher and brother was superintendent of district. Very intelligent family
I was at the big event in Toronto and Paul won that match, or should have
I was there too. So awesome. I loved seeing the Machines & Lou Albano vs. Studd, Bundy & Heenan.
You can also look at a wrestler who goes to different territories to work as learning different styles so you can work with anyone and do it so instead of one style say NY
The Animal was never anything but amazing!
I know that is factual because I got it from Hulk...oh boy
Wow! Orndorff beat Hogan in the Steel Cage match?
Orndorff definitely should have had a Heavyweight title run
I agree. Orndorff deserved a world championship run and I can't understand why he never got one. He definitely had the talent. He must have pissed off Vince or some other execs at some point.
Ummmm Hulk Hogan happened
@@JohnHWelch63 what’re you talking about...?
Based upon what, exactly...? He was never over as a face
@@bustersales6921I'm talking about wrestling. I mean, holy shit, if you are having problems interpreting the meaning of a few simple sentences you should either take a remedial English course, or become a panhandler. Damn!!
Wow Paul was bipolar! May he RIP
Why is that a surprise...?
YOU!!! HEY!!!
George "The Animal" Steele (rip) 2/16/2017
Eat the turn buckle
Orndorf was so cool as a face that when he turned heel I kept feeling like Hogan should have been the heel. Nothing against Orndorf as a heel, he was great but he was also so cool that I wanted him to stay face.
In the 80s? That would never work. Lol
He ate Clorets to give himself the green tongue. 🤑 👅
He can talk?!
George was all " gimmick "
I disagree Warrior was IC champ when he won the WWF championship
The other 98% of the time the WWF champ and IC champ were working separate programs
Is this sarcasm or something...?
Hitman can't stand this guy...
Steele was a stooge
