- How long can a cousin visit? That's the question for Corky (Scotty Beckett) when his wife's cousin (Gordon Jones) makes himself an unwanted houseguest, begins telling Wallet family members how to run their businesses, and blows up one of Corky's restaurant's ranges AND one of Skeezix's (Jimmy Lydon) cars! Another entertaining comedy-drama for fans of the classic Frank O. King comic strip.
Director: Edward Bernds

"gasoline Alley" has always been my favorite comic strip. It's really a pictorial diary of what the USA was like back in the day.
great fun movie, in the Gasoline Alley style . love this 🎥😁👍
The idealized All-American family movie, too bad this family does not exist. Great fun though, just use your imagination. Great cast, with Scotty Beckett and Jimmy Lydon especially!!
You are right. What ever happen to the all American family?
Great movie.
@@johnbeckett8028 This never existed. It was made up for the movies. There is no one "All American" family. We're a diverse culture and always have been. The melting pot.
@@hewitc
Who are you? And what are you writing about?
I was asking whatever happen to the all American family.
You missed my point.
@@johnbeckett8028 Again, there was never any such thing. America is made up of many tyoes of families. There is no one "All American" family, whatever that is supposed to mean. It certainly wasn't the fictional comic family in this movie.
In your mind only.
Have a Blessed Day -
Pastor John.
I watched the first one last night and this one turned out to be even better. Very enjoyable film. Thank you for posting.
another rare one, thanks!
This one popped up in my "recommended list" a while after I watched the original movie "Gasoline Alley". Glad it did, was just as good. They used A LOT of terms that are being used in abundance today when referring to Elwood! They describe him very well, though!
Great movie about how wonderful life in our country used to be. Thanks for this gem👍
Don't take this seriously. Real life wasn't like this. It's the movies.
Excellent Movie 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿
🎥🎥🎥
Classic Film of bygone times...
Thank you.
Thanks for posting this.
📻🙂
The second- and *last-* of this short-lived series, originally released in September 1951.
Columbia had hoped this would be as successful a series as the "Blondie" movies were- but television was already keeping most movie patrons home, and the studio decided the box office revenue wasn't enough to produce a third movie.
Wow....the wreckage....the damage....there's a message in here somewhere.
It was based on a comic strip that ran in newspapers starting in 1918 and is STILL going strong! How's that for longevity? There is one other movie version, "Gasoline Alley," which is also available on RUclips.
i havent seen the comic strip in newsprint for about 45 years. and i grew up on it.
It's still published in the NEW YORK DAILY NEWS.
@@fromthesidelines awesome, thanks for the tip
You're welcome!
I love movies that allow me to step back in time. Wish we were still THAT America.
A good story and a way to deal with a crooked relative.
Awesome!
Can't handle the dad's hair do
I didn't realize Gasoline Alley was a TV series! Dad loved Gasoline Alley comics
No, it's just the two movies. They're not bad, but the live actors can't quite capture Frank O. King's original characters. Except for Avery. That guy was the embodiment of the irascible skinflint who'd do anything for a friend in need.
I'm a new subscriber to your Channel 💚 Thanks for sharing !!
Two excellent Actors:
Jimmy Lydon . [ one of my more favorite Teen Actors of that time period], fantastic actor. Very versatile.
Scotty Beckett, a former Little Rascal- sadly , ended up with drug and gambling addictions, and died too young.
- there were 2-3 of these movies, I think.
📻🙂
only 2 with tvs in homes the box office numbers were not there,so after only 2 movies no more were ever made, the plan was to do many more ,,like the blondie and dagwood series...sad the 2 were great for sure.........
This is great ,a sequel to the first one that I enjoyed muchly. If my dad had a do like that I would be tempted to cut it off while dad was snoozing.
Enjoyed it.
How do we ever live with just one bathroom? 🤪We now have 3 bathrooms for 3 people!

What can you expect when Walmart "fashions" have taken over?
That's the Leave it to Beaver House
Is it really? Now I'm gonna have to find some LitB images and compare!
Good old days
Mike the cop before he moved into Mr. Fields boarding house. Fact.
I never heard of this. Was it part of a series?
There was one preceding movie, _Gasoline Alley._ It is based a long-running comic strip owned by Tribune Media, the conglomerate formed when the _Chicago Tribune_ branched into radio, movies, and TV. Frank O. King worked as a cartoonist for the _Tribune,_ drawing various strips and features, until he struck gold with _GA._ Skeezix, who was found on Walt's doorstep as an infant, was the first cartoon kid to age in real time. Check your library for the series of collected strips, published as _Walt and Skeezix,_ because Tribune Media owns the_GA_ title.
The opening narrator is *PAUL FREES!!!*
Interesting hair styles.
Opps!, I meant uncle Elwood!!
That diner looks familiar. Seems I recall seeing it in another movie.
Boop boopy dedoop!
Put uncle Albert to work on the tv sets, plus he can't make excuses for not having a job !!
The director was the same person who directed some 3Stooges comedies Edward Bernds

@@lloydpenfold486 Pardon me. I am an American and have mastered the English language. Some of us just happen to be "somewhat" literate in spite of your impression.

Scotty Beckett had a tragic life
You forget how boring life could be. This reminded me.
Sometimes having boring rather than stress & chaos is a nice break, huh?
Experience tells that a boring life is a happy contented one as you miss being ill or hospitalised homeless
And many many worse times if we all were boring we'd be so happy 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Red Tolberts, Boring is living in a 2023 demon👹crat world with no liberties, cancel culture, crooked government, crooked FBI and DOJ, high gas prices and food prices, highest inflation in 50 yrs, pandemics, lgbqt and trans indoctrination of our kids in public schools, third world countries illegal immigrants pouring into our borders transforming America into a third world country thanks to the democrats, women with tattoos from head to toes, satan worshipping in hollywood and disney. I can go on and on. Now that is boring.
blessed boredom!
@@kaydee4296 "Boring?" Stress and chaos? Isn't a screaming abrasive customer, wrecking the shop (for which she could have been sued over), exploding cars, and wild chases a little more than watching the grass grow?
