Good video; however, my pattern is so messy, everything is stacked over each other. Also, my selection tool doesn't automatically select everything and when I mange to do so I get tension when moving the whole vector shape.
Selection tool is used to move a whole vector or raster image and direct selction tool is used to move a specific path from vector. Make sure you are selecting the right button.

Also use fulll when you dont have a closed shape for your partern in to make an beginning and end for your brush
