Michigan is larger than some people think. If you're in the metro Detroit area, it's a 7 hour drive to Marquette. That's just an hour short of the drive to Windrock or Snowshoe. You can always visit though. Take a week off and go explore the Upper Peninsula. It's beautiful there. 😁👍
@@dukeofmtb Sure is, Michigan is huge, much bigger than people realize. We lived in SE Michigan for 4 years until this summer, we moved to Texas for work. We miss MI very much! I used to ride DTE and the Metropark greenway (Lower Huron/Willow/Oakwoods) all the time. We’ll have to come visit one day and just camp and ride. Sounds like a great time…
That was the first video of yours I have watched! You guys are awesome. I would love to be able to hit drops and jumps that big. And the stoke to keep riding is so good. Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it! 😊 I'm sure you'll being doing that stuff soon enough. Just 2 years ago, we wouldn't have even considered any of the features in this video.
@@dukeofmtb Thank you! I try and make them as fun as possible. It would be cool to make some bigger drops. It's awesome hearing how far you have progressed in just 2 years.
That crash @ 1:40 reminded me of my right hand berm crash back in July at Stony Creek resulting in me breaking my hand and missing out the rest of the season. And I wasn't doing anything nearly as gnarly as you. So glad you are okay. I love watching your videos especially when I haven't been able to ride since July. I actually might go on a very light trail ride Sunday since the weather is going to be nice just to test out my hand and try to get over the mental aspect of getting back on the bike after a crash but it's going to be at Riverbends, something nice and easy. Love watching your progression.
You'll be back to your old self in no time. River Bends is an excellent place to start again. Can't wait for the warm weather this weekend. I can't believe it's snowing already in October in SE Michigan.
I would like to say, I really enjoy your videos. I am relatively new to mountain biking. I was very much into dirtbike riding. But now i am getting on in years, i want to give mountain biking a try. I just bought my first full suspension bike, i graduated from a hard tail. Any advice for the newbie? By the way, Cory is badass. Keep up the good work. Don
Thanks! 😊 Just keep riding and gradually push your comfort zone. It's also good to watch some videos about technique, eg: body positioning, cornering, and braking. With a bit of research and a ton of riding, you'll just naturally improve. 😁👍
Love the videos and is this a new bike? What made you upgrade from the Remedy 8 you had? Was the trek not enough for these types of trails? So fun to watch you both having a great time and pushing g each other too..
I've actually been riding a 2021 Commencal Meta TR since August of 2020. The 2017 Remedy was an excellent bike, I just wanted something with more modern geometry. I'm actually selling the TR right now, as I'm going to be riding a Transition Spire going forward. Since Cory got her Strega with 170mm travel, we've been riding more park, so I figured I might as well get a long travel bike as well. I'm not getting any younger, especially after over a decade in the flooring business, and a little bit more cushion helps with the aches and pains. 😅
@@dukeofmtb that is awesome!! I'm picking up a used 2017 Trek Remedy 2moro.. looki.g forward to it as I searched for videos on them and found yours!! It has been great watching amd learning from you on the Trek.. Thanks again and happy trails
@@dukeofmtb sweet!! I appreciate it and am wanting to make it similar to your setup.. thanks and likewise!! Keep the videos going and stay safe you 2!!
You need to put a camera on her too. Your personalities are so different the two perspectives of MTBing and how your both growing at mtbing are equally interesting.
Was that crash from hitting that front brake too hard? it looked like you were trying to really slowdown and over braked and then the front just washed out. Great video. (minus the crash)
@@dukeofmtb Cool deal. Being from the Charlotte area, I get over there a few times a year. I rode Avery Creek for the second time on Sunday. I definitely made some progression from the first time, but left a lot on the table. I enjoyed watching you guys trips through that area.
@@walkerswild I'd love to do Avery again, but it's getting a lot harder to convince Cory to ride anything other than bike parks these days. We skipped most of the features last time and I'd love to try and clear more next time too.
@@dukeofmtb Well you guys have progressed nicely. I miss the 360 cam, but understand that it's uncomfortable for her to wear it. But it made your videos pretty unique. If you ever end up in the Charlotte area, hit me up, I'll show you the trails.
@@walkerswild Thanks! And yeah, I miss the 360 cam too. Definitely was unique with the way we used it, but she always hated that thing. One day they'll make one the size of a USB stick while having the same quality as a GoPro. Then maybe I can convince her to wear a camera again.
Hardtail Pride and Bertha. There are Trailforks links in the description. They don't put these trails on the map in the parking lot of the South Trails in Marquette, but they're there.
Did you wipe at this bit? ruclips.net/video/QhBdDpAFZ0w/видео.html We cheered this crazy kid after he launched a wild ride off that drop jump..... Had a big one a few weeks ago at The Highlands of Harbor Springs, and bought a Kali Impact 2.0 full face trail helmet shortly thereafter almost denting my face in. Scared me a little bit. Hope your cheek isn't to bruised up.
You are both doing great, but eye protection is a good thing, maybe you can get Oakley to sponsor you, you deserve it, then you would probably wear something, glasses, googles, you only have 2 eyes per person, please do it for yourself, and the people you influance, Oakley or any other manufacture would be crazy not to sponsor you two.. keep up the good work..
I actually had goggles on, they were just under the visor during that drop and got flung off in the crash. I also switched to the full face helmet on day 2. Cory also started wearing goggles regularly after this. Just had to find a pair she was comfortable with. Smith Squad goggles are our goto. We're not sponsored, but they're great. They never fog up. They have a wide field of view. They come with thick lenses that provide excellent clarity and visibility. They're also very comfortable. They don't squeeze the sinuses making it weird to breath. Not too expensive either. No surprise I see them everywhere these days.
I can't... with all these crashes!!! :)) Its like horror movie, I had to close my eyes! :))
Jesus dude that thing looks massive, glad you're relatively okay!
Thanks, man! 😅
missed your videos, another great video 👍👍
Thanks! Hard to find the time to edit sometimes. 😅
you are so cool ! And your riding so perfect ! Well done

Ouch! Gnarly crash Ed lol glad it wasn’t worse. I wish soooo bad that I could have made it up to Marquette while we lived in Michigan.

She wore a camera more often in our older videos. She doesn't like wearing one though. Gets in the way of her riding. 😅

Yup. Went too deep, so I wanted to stop before I went flying off the next drop and into a tree. 😅

Bertha is serious. Can't believe the land owner would allow such a big trail built on a public access trail like this.
Might be why they keep those trails off the map in the parking lot. 🤔

That kid really sent it. Good call on the helmet. I got really lucky. I'm fully healed now. Hardly left a mark. It was real close to my eye though.
