I find that I actually focus a bit better if I have multiple things to think about simultaneously...but when I take my meds I can only focus on one thing at a time(with a lot more focus tho)

How do you describe marching band? Think of all the things a marching band member hast to do at once during a performance. Now think how easy they make all of those things look at once. Pretty exhausting to think about right. Marching band is the definition of multitasking efficiently. Of course not actually in the dictionary, but it should be. They’ve done studies and found that marching band is the only activity in the world in which a person uses their entire brain at the same time. If you need help here’s the things that we marching band members have to do at the same time during a show/ performance. 1. Memorizing music / recalling the memorized music 2. Memorizing sets on the field / recalling those memorized sets 3. Playing the instrument 4. Remembering to breathe 5. Making sure their posture is perfect 6. Making sure they’re marching correctly. 7. Counting rests in the music 8. Counting the length of notes as they’re being played 9. Watching the field commander/ drum major/ band director who’s keeping the time 10. Staying in step 11. Marching to the beat perfectly 12. Listening to their pitch that they’re playing and the pitch of the rest of the band to make sure their in tune 13. Constantly tuning to other musicians around them 14. Blending their sound with the rest of the band so they don’t stand out. 15. Breathing at the right time 16. After breathing coming back in to the piece at the right time and with everyone else That basically covers marching band ( well the major things at least. ). So tell me, are marching band members multitasking? Or are they just good at making it look like it? My answer for being in marching band is that we are very good at multitasking, and it is not as easy as it looks to do 16+ things at the same time.
