I think that the Punisher MC is probably the best handgun just due to the fact that there's significantly more narrow hallways in Separate Ways than there are in the main game, which allows the ability to penetrate through targets become much more effective. Its lessened recoil and significantly higher capacity also make it a very capable weapon for sustainability and utility altogether.
Sawed-off W-870 is honestly underappreciated. It's just slightly weaker than W-870 in the main game which is pretty on par with Riot Gun. Its smaller size make up for its weakness imo as compared to the other two.

The elite knife is second best knife game under Krauser's on downside it's only in SW. Blacktail is great but no laser put rng bullet spread ruins it . RE1/0 would be fun to rank, but it would be difficult to do in one vid. The weapon balancing is very different and there are 4 playable characters to consider.
I agree with the ranking as a whole but in terms of weapons themselves I often choose the black tail til I get the Matilda as far as pistols go , tmp for crowd control , semi auto rifle . With shotguns I often don’t find much use for except situations and I often find myself using the riot one but there is a case for striker (in og ) . Separate ways I like tmp and blast bow (if I’m not running the infinite launcher )
The biggest issue that both the Punisher and the Red 9 has in Separate Ways is that... Ada already has the Punisher by default, so... what´s the point of getting the other two when you can upgrade the Punisher and pretty much steam roll Ganados and bosses with it? Personally, i just go with the TMP, SR1903 and the Sawed off W-870, that´s it. Oh, and also adding the Lady Hunk mod over Ada for that sweet extra tacticoolness.
Im still kinda salty theres no handcannon, yeah i got the s+ with the sweeper but to me its just not as satisfying as when i got base game s+ with the handcannon lol
Red 9 is the strongest gun .. But Punisher fully upgraded w the Laser sight is my go to.. 🛡️ ganados don't stand a chance. Not to mention it kills multiple enemies with one bullet.. Thus saving ammo , If there lined up. It has has the highest mag count . And overall a decent handgun..
as someone who played the original RE4. the Red 9 was nerfed in the main campaign as well. and do to the weird aiming mechanics in both resident evil 4&5. The bolt action rifles were the best rifles in the game. Because if you were skilled enough you could kill enemies without aiming down the scope and in RE4 the bolt action rifle took up less inventory space in addition to doing more damage per shot. and because ammo was somewhat limited except for handgun ammo. Damage per shot was better than damage per second. and the only reason the stingray is better in remake is you can’t do the no scope aiming trick. That you could do in both the original RE4 and RE5. Essentially meaning the bolt action rifle was nerfed in two ways less damage per shot no aiming trick. and I have to strongly disagree about the infinite knife and the regular knife. if you’re attempting to get the cat ears or chicken hat the infinite knife is much better. Because a your going to be using the TMP or Typewriter not to kill enemies but to stun them so you can run past them and save time and ammo killing them. and the infinite knife is very useful for quick escapes and preventing chainsaws and mouth plaga’s from instantly killing you. and you can save money because you don’t have to repair it at most you’ll be upgrading the damage once. To deal more damage when escaping a grab from an enemy. it’s more for utility than damage that’s what the infinite Typewriter is for on speedruns. and of course saddler doesn’t matter since you’ll most likely just use the RPG on him. but yes I agree about the Red 9 the only reason it was so good in the original was because it was very stable with the stock attachment. of course some people use the silver ghost with the exclusive upgrade it’s the only gun that can complete with the red 9. Because of the chance to instantly kill standard and parasite Ganado’s. of course it’s not without its flaws either it’s much less accurate at long range because Leon shakes when aiming it for some reason. but in short the only thing I disagree with is the stingray and the 1903 and the regular knife compared to the infinite knife. Mainly because the knife is more for preventing damage than combat unless you’re playing as Krauser in mercenaries.
Bro in normal RE4 remake, all I hear is the red9 is so op red 9 is so good blah blah blah. I started my 1st hardcore play through so I wanted to prioritize raw upfront damage over anything. I got the red9 during chapter 4, it was okay, but then I got to the cabin fight and that thing SUCKED! I was getting literally no crits or staggers, I was struggling with the cabin, I didn’t restart because I thought the auto save was in the house, not on the bridge outside, eventually I figured it out, went back and got the SG09 and I was back in business, hitting staggers at a normal rate (you never realize how important those are until you don’t have them). Black tail and sg09 are best pistols imo, I also thought I liked the le5 more than the tmp, but then I put a stock on the tmp and WOW it’s so much better. Riot gun is best shotgun in the game, street sweeper reticle as atrocious you couldn’t hit the blind side of a barn with that thing

My personal Separate Ways weapons rankings: 1. Blacktail - This thing has all you need. It’s powerful and fast. When I play Separate Ways, I use Ada differently from Leon. Where I’m more precise with Leon, I like to play fast with Ada. *pop pop pop*. It’s the perfect weapon. No reason to ever buy another handgun. Also I like it for lore reasons lol. This weapon is the main piece I use for most of the game. 2. TMP - I used to hate this thing. I still don’t like it in the main game. But after really taking the time with this weapon, I love it for Ada. I don’t even use the stock! This thing shreds bosses which is where I mainly use this weapon. Bosses and heavies. Separate Ways put the TMP on the map for me. Also I like this for lore reasons too lol. 3. Stingray - I love it in the main game and I love it in Separate Ways. Like I said, the name of the game for Ada is speed and power and the Stingray delivers on both fronts. This thing helps a ton especially during the Saddler fight. All you need is power and fire rate upgrades on this thing. 4. Blast Crossbow - This is basically Ada’s magnum. Yes it’s massive, but all you need is a 8x12 case and you’re set. I use it on bosses mostly. Stuns Gigante and Pesanta. It’s a great ammo saver. The only other times I use it is for the track star Gloria, the wrecking ball arena, Brute in the tent(turret area), and the brute in the elevator. Not many uses but it’s a great help and ammo saver. Any knives I find I always convert it to blast arrows as there’s rarely a reason to craft handgun ammo. Its perfect. Only downside for me is it’s speed. Forever to take out and put away and fire and reload. But again it does stun a ton so it’s fine. 5. Tactical Knife - rounding out what is my main kit, this knife is great. Strong, fast. Like I like my weapons. But I don’t really prioritize my knife the way I do in the main game. Durability is the main thing I upgrade because stealth is tops with Ada. But outside of that, I don’t use it like how I use the Combat Knife. Still a great tool. 6. SRM1903 - This thing is fine but I always go with the Stingray as soon as it’s available for both Leon and Ada. It’s slow firing, slow reload. It is great for early game. It is. This thing kills Gigante when paired with grenades or the blast crossbow. The other major use for this weapon is the courtyard. After dealing with track star Gloria with the crossbow/TMP, I climb up one of the towers and snipe the remaining zealots. But once I’m in the sewers, it’s goodbye. Stingray time. 7. Chicago Sweeper - I don’t really use this thing ever on normal playthroughs. It sits in my storage to rot. Don’t even sell it. But it’s at 7 because it was my go-to for my S+ runs. That’s all it’s good for. It’s otherwise a very boring weapon. 8. Elite Knife - similar to the Sweeper, I don’t use this much. It was good for my challenge runs but since then it rots in my storage. I don’t use or even sell it. Nice to have for the completionist in me, but no bonus weapons to use or sell allowed on my normal playthroughs. 9. Sawed Off W-870 - Eeeh. I was so disappointed with this thing. I usually love shotguns but I just didn’t vibe with this thing. It’s wide spread makes it inaccurate it can just straight up whiff. There’s rarely a time you even need crowed control. Short mag size. Expensive to upgrade. The TMP is far better for Ada. This thing is what made me give the TMP another shot. Riot Gun remains the best shotgun. That said, it’s only this high because it’s not totally useless and for those who don’t like submachine guns has this. 10./11. Red9/Punisher - These two weapons are interchangeable. There’s no reason to use either. Red9 is strong? So is the Blacktail. And it’s smaller and needs no attachments and faster. Punisher has penetration? Ok? You can rip shields away which is the main thing the Punisher does. It’s a bit more accurate I guess. Blacktail just outclasses both these guns.
Bro. I dont care about the size of the weapons. Which one is better in action? This is fvcking stupid. You're basing your judgement on the size too so some of these guns should be higher or lower on the list if we remove the size factor.
So many peaople like RE4. But in my opinion all the weapons are so ugly compared to RE 1-3. Also torch carrying zombies.. I mean truely? Whats wrong with you? :D RE4 got the worst feeling in so many ways. I really dont get it.
