Alright DIB team; I've got a story for you. When this was filmed back in 2019, you guys did a live stream of the OCS leaving Toledo and mentioned it was on its way to Harrisburg. Living along the NS Cleveland line, I assumed it would come through my neck of the woods. I took a leap of faith and headed out to the tracks and waited on the OCS. After a three hour wait, it finally showed up. Thank you guys so much for sharing your catch of the OCS in its prime! Without it, I don't think I would've caught it. Here's my video of it when it came past me ruclips.net/video/EM34S8ygd5M/видео.html
Awesome videos! Vickers is an incredible spot for radio reception and to watch trains at. I once heard trains in Cleveland calling signals all the way from Vickers!
Good morning JC .! by you mentioning Wheeling West Virginis I can remember when we my brotherand me as kids we had this old Zenitj we found WWVA an .AM we couldint believe we was picking up somthing so far away!!
Hey Drayton, been watching your video's for about 2 years now. I found your video's purely by chance. Ever since that first video I give you a thumbs up before I even watch the video. Your knowledge of these videos blows my mind. I already know I'm gonna love the video before I even watch it. Was just watching your live video at Rockwood, TN but was unable to leave a comment. Was saddened to hear how cruel some people can be. If people don't like trains, why would they even be watching. Jealously is a terrible thing and I think its probably because you do such a great job. Will be writing to your P.O. Box this coming week Would sure like to go to your anv. party if I can make it.
Excellent job Drayton! Caught those F's 2-3 times on the Chicago line, and once east of Fort Wayne at Easy Wayne Yard. Nice to see that Air Line Yd is still in use. Not sure why they felt the need to rename it tho. Was fine as is.
At 1:44 that blue unit is probably amoung some that are on power rail services storage track in monroe ga, theres also a unit there that I got my yearbook photos taken on
When 611 did the loops she borrowed Spencer's FP to assist with the loops with the Southern Railroad heritage unit. I wish that 4501 would have did the loops before NS stop using the loops.
At 38:22 time mark, that's a "whole lotta love" pulling power. Can anyone here explain how these engine sync together, power wise, to pull the same. Is it torque, rpm, amps, coupler pressure? I've always wondered this. Fantastic video here, thanks so much. I'm from Cleveland, Ohio and never knew until now Toledo was such a big train hub. Now I'm in NC near Salisbury's "NC Transportation Museum" that has a good selection of Norfolk Southern. Good stuff...
NS got some F units when Conrail was broken up. Possibly 270 or 271 maybe both. I've never heard or seen the F units that went to CSX. Conrail's Fs were split 50-50.
Very descriptive, interesting, with maps and all that history. Still, and I might have missed it, however I have heard the expression, but just couldn't place where is... 'Holy Toledo!'? Gracias por tu video. RT sends, envía, Colonia Centro Histórico, Puebla, México...
F for the ns f units and im soooo sad to see the f units goo but I hope they have a good future and I was lucky to see them in Bristol Tennessee and im from Kingsport Tennessee where the csx santa train does its yearly run and it stops where I live which im very lucky that I live in Kingsport tn and my city is a beautiful place to live in or just to visit too I'm 14 years old and its been my home for 14 years now
I love ur videos Delay in Block. My fav is eiter the one where you chased the steel coil local train or the one where there was a intermodal train lead my four emds in georga. Pls notice me 😎💪🏼💪🏼
Hey sonny mcdonald thry wouldn't need to scrap the norfolk and southern passenger train. Think about it the train might be older but they could give amtrak a run for their money. Think about the possibility of lower ticket prices compared to amtrak. It would be a dream come true to see that train moving again after all these years.
I can remembe a friend of mine drove truck for JB zHunt. They have come a long way . My friend told me tht thte company was a family owend busines, this was the early90s Man do they hsve it going on
Those old "F" units had a lot of class. Compared to the Amtrak units today which look like Amtrak itself, a worthless tax burden on the American since 1972. Amtrak should be abolished. It doesn't work now and never has, especially the long distance routes.
The fact of the matter is that passenger rail receives minimal government assistance per passenger mile as compared to air travel. For years Amtrak was told they had to survive on ticket sales. Now look at what the airlines get in the form of air traffic control, infrastructure and tax breaks and it pales in comparison. Add in new time delays because of TSA security, and a lot of short hop air rides could be better served by trains. And who pays for the roads? Trucks do more damage and pay less in taxes for that damage than car users. Talk about tax subsidies.
I love your videos but you should know that not all sand trains are for fracking, sand is used for concrete and metal casting, just to name a couple of the many other uses.
I think Amtrak should do more in the state of Ohio to atleast try and bring ohio's passenger service back haven't had much sence 1950 in atleast 30% of Ohio

I'm happy the Reading & Northern has 270 and 275. I've seen them on their OCS.
Rode behind them on fall foliage. It was a great trip and the locomotives look great with the new paint.

Sad to see the “F-38-2s” go, yeah I know they are f units but hey, rebuilt to gp38-2 standards
Like the designation F38-2
Right, Should be F38-2
Awesome video 🚄🚄👍
The executive train was an awesome catch
Us CSX guys that would get held at a diamond or something for that train, we called it the “NS Circus Train”! Lol

The OCS train is not the same without the F locomotives
Yinz really gotta come out to Pittsburgh. I think you guys would like the AVR,W&LE,B&P,NS and CSX

I Chased 'em on the R&N Fall Foilage in November twas my first ever passenger train chase. These locomotives know how to put on a show.

Man, it's cool seeing trains running around where I live, I live in Maumee, about 10 mins, from downtown
21:19 Canadian National's Lang Yard

Excellent video. Why were those beautiful F units auctioned off?
"F" for the F Units. I do want them to bring the F Unit engines back.
Thanks for the nice video-- Can you share your source for the maps you show?
I am curious about the rebuild process. Have you done any videos on that subject?
Wow that ex ICG Hopper at 4.29 is cool (being an IC fan) !
Was that a Police Car on the other side of the tracks at 50:00?
Yes
What happened to the OCS after the auctioning of the F units?
Hey Delay! Where can I find that map of NW Ohio? I am a steel hauler that goes from Cleveland to Detroit everyday and love your videos!
Norfolk Southern’s website.
It’s alright, I got 270 and 275 right with me on the Reading and Northern

Love those high hoods
38:52 They should have kept BNSF 672 in its original ATSF Warbonnet paint scheme! How was it repainted into H2?
Good stuff thumbs up
in my railroading days with Conrail there a place near North Bergen NJ. That scraped old rail (Subway etc) cars We should keep more for history,s sake
What drone arę you using?
Nice dear friend.
Why do you call it the JAL when the locomotives are marked ADBF?
The railroad and locomotives are a subsidiary of the Adrian & Blissfield (ADBF). -Drayton
engineers shown in this video keep those f units clean as you can by the gloves at 32:03, this is not said about csx and the f40s
New York Central stripes? Impressive heritage...
Why did they stop using the F units?
I would assume because modern Class 1s are money hungry and willing to get rid of everything in the name of money.
I thought this was a vedio of NS f-units.Where are they?
30:31 for the actual F units you click on this vid for.
Watched that business train go around Horse Shoe Curve many times. Nothing prettier!
Anyone know why Railstream stop doing live streams of trains?? I know that a bunch of locations at one point in time.
How many cars was that train pulling
Dang, they even went through my own state, F for the units
I love ur videos Delay in Block. My fav is eiter the one where you chased the steel coil local train or the one where there was a intermodal train lead my four emds in georga. Pls notice me 😎💪🏼💪🏼
The paint looks Southern Railway F units
They are
Do you live in Michigan
What year is this locomotive?
They were built in the mid-1950s. -Drayton
This was also recorded in June 2019, a few months before the F units were sold off.
2 hour late gang? also *F*

What exactly is an intermotul? Please pardon my spelling error.
container and trailer trains
F for the f units😢😢I actually bought my first model train today and it is one of the ns f unit's
NS 4270 is a thing still… right? It’s also a f7
why did they sell off the F Units anyway? I read they were originally B&O owned.
Nice video. 🍁🍁🇮🇳
What a shame that all that work the previous president put in these magnificent locomotives to be thrown away by the current president

Was going to make a similar comment but can't say it any better than you did. Agree 100 percent.
Seems to be run now as an employment program for the grandchildren of the former railroad porters.
End long distance trains** Amtrak does make money on the Northeast Corridor, and state DOT supported routes (Amtrak California, NC By Train)
Then where would our passenger rail service come from?
The fact of the matter is that passenger rail receives minimal government assistance per passenger mile as compared to air travel. For years Amtrak was told they had to survive on ticket sales. The Aberdeen Carolina and Western has yet to activate their units. RBMN did a good job with theirs!
They have now. Their new paint jobs look great
