Training the puppies to a litter box is something we learned from other breeders and it's great! Previously we used potty pads, which we still use in other areas of the house, but the litter box works better for multiple puppies, especially during the night. The litter does spill out, but overall it helps to keep their pen clean. Pads turn into their favorite toy and they love to tear them up and run across the room with them. In other areas of the house where we use pads, we are there to quickly pick up potty so they don't step on it or drag it around when they start playing with the pad. When they are older, we train our puppies to go potty outside. But, they still remember how to use pads and the litter box, as you can see in one of our videos when Ivy uses the litter box during a puppy visit.
