Best video I’ve seen for this technique - very clear to understand, concise , to the point, and visually easy to see, done at a perfect speed. Kudos for the great job.

Thank you so much for this tutorial. The first time I got it first time and as I am well over 80 and my memory is so poor I can get it first time again and again. Your explanation and precise movements as you explain what you are doing makes perfect sense to me. I have tried so many other tutorials for this cast on or part of it and I could still not understand exactly what it was I was doing wrong to not be able to repeat this process. So thank you again.am going to subscribe as I may have better luck with your explanations on these new techniques.

Could you use this to cast on in 2x2 rib? Thank you for a very clear and concise video.

Hi Roberta! You can use this cast-on to start knitting in 2 x 2 rib. It will look like a regular long tail cast-on, just in reverse!

Hi Clare - thanks for writing! This is a great technique for use if you plan on knitting a purl-side facing fabric. We used this technique with Julie Hoover's Olson pattern - take a look!

The title of this tutorial reads: Long Tail Cast-on, Purlwise. It is not. It's the regular knitwise long tail cast-on.

Hi Pamela! While the two techniques are very similar, this method of casting on creates a row of purl bumps in front, which is different from the knitwise version of the long tail cast-on. For a tutorial on that technique, you can check out our tutorial right here: ruclips.net/video/geob1W9P7v0/видео.html. Hope this helps clarify things!
