Yah it's his voice, its so amazing and soothing, it gives you a calming feeling yet the same affect as if you were reading the story. You get spooked during the story yet you want to stay to here his voice and thats why Cry is so amazing he makes you calm even if it's scary. But he can also be loud, hilarious, adorable, angry, drunk, and spooky too.
Not really if you're at a place where they got camping cabins and stuff around on summer break and you don't know you're in a horror movie or game, you wouldn't be like "Zombies" you'd be like "They're cutting some lumber to make a fire with".
I'm a jumpy person, especially when I'm walking alone in the middle of the night, in the middle of the woods, so horror or not, that would creep me out.

I listen to this often every night to put me to sleep due to the sound of the forest. But now that Cry is being exposed, this somehow seems much darker and disturbing to listen to....

He doesn't read all those popular stories like BEN DROWNED and The Russian Sleep Experiment. He also tends to add background music and sound effects to help you get into the story more. That's good... sometimes... I hope you have a solid stomach friend... If not, I'd advice you to stay away from "Noises" and "Symmetry"
