I love that Derek Prince was always well dressed in a nice suit. His attention to this detail says to me how important it was to him to speak and share God's Word. It is hard to take seriously, pastors who look like they rolled out of bed, wearing what they would wear to do their yard work. Just my opinion.

Would you want your surgeon to wear jeans and t-shirt? Even if his heart is in the right place? Would you want a judge, who is going to decide your case, to wear jeans and t-shirt? Even if his heart is in the right place? What we wear speaks to the situation. My point was and is, that the Word of God should be treated with the difference that it deserves and that includes what the speaker is wearing.

Secondly, money given into any ministry that God Himself has not initiated and is being lead by God, is money wasted, and does not honor God. Thirdly, money given to God should be given with the understanding that the reward is “treasure in heaven” and not riches here on the earth. The blood of Jesus is where our provision comes from, seek Jesus, God is not a money-in, money-out machine.

It's important to note that Derek Prince changed his view of tithing in later years after reading a book by New Zealand Bible teacher Graham Carle. Giving a tenth of your month didn't even exist in the Old Testament. Read Deuteronomy 12 and 14...it had nothing to do with modern tithing traditions.
