The amount of miles I put on my truck and the gas I spend on travel for the animals is crazy high .

This is great I have did a cost analyst for my first year I did terrible over paid for food and over paid for hay 152.00 per head ouch 😣 but I bought my bin and found a better cheaper source of hay. The goal for us is 75 dollars per head so I have some work to do this year. buy hay during the right time to buy hay the hottest part of the year when everyone has plenty prices are the best. Feed is what am trying to figure out.
It takes time to get things dialed in. Keep at it and every year you will find new ways to save more.
@@LinessaFarms yes it don’t happen over night and it is not cheap to do when you are trying to do labor saving is not cheap either auto waterers are expensive but well worth it for having fresh clean water year round that are Frost free fence line feeders rotation infrastructures.

Recently stumbled across your channel and have since subscribed. I was wondering though, what software program do you use to keep track of your herd? I have a small Boer goat herd that is growing, quickly. I am not a wizz with excel so programing my own spreadsheet will not work for me. Any suggestions as to what software to use for record keeping?
We use the HerdHelp App while we are out and about on the farm. We also keep paper medical records on file in our main office. You can download the HerdHelp app on apple or android. Our forms are also available on our website at www.linessafarms.com

Yup, my hardest to catch doe died from worms. She pretty much culled herself.
Oh man. Sorry to hear this. We recently interviewed a goat farmer and he said, “from the day they are born, goats are trying to figure out how to die”. This is pretty accurate. We’ve had some goats do some weird stuff over the years.
@@LinessaFarms Every goat that I have lost (5) has been from a different cause. Only one was unknown.
If I can raise all of my food therefore I am paining my self 6000 a year and the quality of food is great!

Jay, on another note…. It seems like my voice is only in mono for some reason so when I listen to it with my AirPods in, I only get sound out of one ear. I don’t know if the fact it’s in mono is messing with your speaker.
@@LinessaFarms this was the case. I was at work when I tried to listen and so I only had one ear in and it happened it was the wrong ear.
If i bought some Animals and are not sure if they have been Vaxinated will it hurt to revaxinate them ?
Referring to CDT, no it won’t matter. If you are in doubt, I would consider it.
