my go to pollinator is Anise Hyssop or Licorice mint. It's drought resistant and It blooms all summer long and you can make tea if you like licorice flavor.
Awesome. Thank you for letting me know. I guess I’ll have to place another seed order. 😆😆😆 I’ll try everything that has been successful for others and drought resistant and summer long blooms. Can’t beat that. 😊
@@jencordial anise hyssop is also known as Agastache (which I saw in the haul!). 😊 so you’re all set!!
Really enjoyed your haul! Thanks:))) didn’t know about FB groups. I want to trade now too! Glad I found your channel. Very informative and fun.❤🤩 By the way cosmos Xsenia is pronounced KSENIA. My middle name. 🤪 I better get me those seeds lol.
Thank you so much for letting me know you like them. The Facebook groups are amazing. You should definitely join all of them. And thanks for the pronunciation of Xsenia. Awesome middle name by the way. And you totally have to get those seeds. ❤️😊
My favorite pollinator friendly flower is Verbascum. Bumblebees love it and it blooms all summer. Seeds are hard to get. I got some this year from Burpee.
Oh wonderful. Glad you were able to get your hands on some. Now I must go look them up and add them to my wishlist. 😊
I really like the Lucky Garden site too! Have you tried the Star Wars Tomato Collection? They look awesome!
Hi Steve. I saw that video and was cheesy smiling the whole time. He did such an awesome job with that one. So clever. I have tried Rebel Starfighter Prime and saved some seeds from it but I have not tried the other three. But you know me eventually I will acquire the seeds for them and give them a try myself😆
Thank you for the link! And for watching my reviews! 😊🥳
Absolutely. I’ve been loving your channel since I found it. And I wanted to share it with all my tomato loving friends. 😊
@@jencordial 😊😊😊
Dog.... was it girl girl weird thing. I think the dog would only steal and eat that particular tomato in the entire garden so she named it after her dog
Yes. You are correct. I looked it up when editing the video and that is the story behind it. I love to know the stories behind tomatoes 🍅
Tomato growers supply company another good seed place
Thanks I’ll have to check them out. I’ve never heard of that one.❤️
Ur kitchen flip flopped haha how did u do that
So I record and edit my RUclips videos with my iPhone. So sometimes I will record using the camera that I can see myself in the screen so when I do that it’s mirrored. So if there’s words in my video, I have to flip-flop the entire video so that the words aren’t backwards and sometimes I forget to do that until I am at the first thing that I see in the video that’s backwards, so that is how my kitchen flip-flops in my videos.
I got Queen of the night seeds from Bakers Creek also
Aren’t they just the most exotic looking tomato. I can’t wait to try them myself. ❤️
@@jencordial I hope they taste as good as they look!
Happy New Year 🎊🎈🎆
Excellent video
Thank you so much for letting me know you enjoyed it. 😊
Good luck with Ur pollinators, I feel lucky to have my bees!! Happy 2023!!
Yes you are super lucky. When I see bees in my garden I talk to them and tell them if they stick around things will get better and better for them every year. I hope last years bees were listening. 😆😆❤️
Happy New Year🎉🥳
Elecampane is great! It does bring in pollinators, but the root is the real gem. After a couple years of growth you can dig up the root and take some pieces off it (it will grow back from the pieces you leave). We make a tincture out of it and it's great for coughs, especially when you first start feeling something coming on. It does have a strong taste but it's completely worth it to not be hacking up a lung. I spent about ten years getting a bad cough every November until I tried the elecampane. Now I take it whenever I feel like I might be starting to get a cough it gets rid of it (so far, knock on wood). It's also supposed to be good for digestion and getting rid of intestinal parasites, but not recommended in pregnancy. They're 6 foot tall plants and they're perennial, so bear that in mind when planting them out.
Nasturtiums are also super good. They're pretty and tasty at the same time. Both the leaves and the flowers are good in salads. They have a kind of radish like flavor. My older daughter grows them every year, even now in her crabby teenage phase.
Hollyhocks are fun, too. I grew up with having them around every summer (they do reseed themselves and they live 2- 4 years). Taking seeds from them is super easy so I've had them everywhere I've ever lived, except for two short stints in apartments. I didn't know they came in black, though. If you get a chance to film your black flower garden this year, that would be interesting to see.
Buena Mulatta is neat. It's more fine leafed and branching than many other peppers and it's a short plant. We mostly used the peppers at the purple stage because we apparently don't have any patience, lol. They were medium heat and nice flavored.
So funny that you put this up now. I just got my Baker Creek order in the mail today and then I sat down to fold laundry and saw this video was up. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Oh yes that’s right. Now I remember I got it because of both those reasons. Boy do I wish I’d had that a few weeks ago. My husband had this awful cough deep down in his lungs. Thank you so much for the information. I have a tendency to just look at something if it’s pretty and not read about the size it gets. Elecampane is a big one so I need to choose it’s placement carefully.
This year was the first year I grew nasturtiums. I’m not a huge fan of radishes but the flowers being edible is awesome. I think it’s so neat when flowers can be added to salads and such.
And absolutely the black flower garden will be making it into a garden tour for sure. It’s something I’m most excited about to start. I just need to figure out where I want it. I’m running outta room on my 1/2 acre here.
Thank you so much for all the info you shared with me. I love reading your comments. I always learn something. I appreciate you!!!
Have a very Happy anew Year 🥳🥳🥳❤️❤️❤️
totally went ham the moment baker creek posted all the 2023 stuff and im pretty sure i ordered every new flower swear to god lol! just super excited they have petunias and vincas now and the newest snap dragons OMG! love! btw the buena mulata peppers youre gonna love. theyre a staple in our garden
Awesome. Both our gardens will be full of lovely things. And I agree those snapdragons are to die for. So so pretty. And thanks for letting me know about the Buena mulata peppers. I’ll add them to my definite grow list for this year. ❤️
I use BakerCreek and MI Gardner too 🤣 They are my go-to but I also have two others that I check as well.
I also picked up a bunch of black flowers this season too 👍
You can’t just say you use two other seed companies and not give the names of them to a seed addict when you’re talking to them.😆😆 and we’re starting a trend this year. The Midnight Garden 🪴
@@jencordial Johnnyseeds and I think the other one is sew true seed but I have to double check my seed packs 👍
