When the state quarters came out I bought bags of them at the mint each year. I filled up state quarter books and I sold most of them on Ebay. I kept a set for myself because they were so beautiful. My grandson loved them and, of course I gave them to him. He put them in his own "treasure chest," at home. All all uncirculated and right from the mint. I hope he makes a lot of money with them in the future.

It is very very unlikely he will make anything at all. Videos like this make people think they can find one in their pocket or in a mint bag and make $4K, LOL. The coins above are all one in100 million. The are rare top POP. This is not close to bag of shiny quarters. If it was banging around in bag, and shipped thur the mail there are no 67,68 or 69s. The are worth face value and the wonderful memories you and your grandson made together and that is priceless.

@@wallykos6784 Some state quarters that have a very high grade sell for a lot of money. I do agree with you that it's more difficult than people think find high grade coins. I had two 1950's high grade coins graded. They both look brand new to me, but they both graded at a 64 RB...Not very valuable at all. :(

@@hillofbeans2692 I wouldnt trust Heritage auctions one bit. in 1984 they backed up Certified Rare Coin Galleries just so they could create infomercials pumping up quarters and coins. Heritage auctions has gotten in trouble several times by the FCC for shill bidding, creating pump and dump schemes for Coins, Comics and lately, video games. This scam only works if you can convince people that their common items are worth a lot of money. HA can take 10$ of the auction, Which means if they valued the quarter at 4,000$ they could still make 400$ per auction of that quarter. not to mention buyers fee, so they take a percentage of that as well.

Hey blueridge, what's best about this video is that i have 10 rolls of all the states that came directly from the mint and is still in the package. Never opened. I wonder if those would grade out since they came directly from the mint hahaha... i still haven't pulled the trigger on sending them in. Also my nickels with full steps from key dates, as well as hundreds of other coins, including old morgans. I think im afraid of failure when it comes to sending them in to get graded. Either that or scared of what i could do with the money when I'd sell some through great collections hahahaha

It’s $30 to have it graded. Don’t waste your time or money his valuations are utterly ridiculous. I’ve collected uncirculated state quarters for a long time and he’s full of crap. Some of the errors are worth money but the rest forget it. Pre 1964 quarters were 90% silver and those are quite valuable but anything since (minus the error coins) are virtually worthless over face value

Fellow youtube coin collectors. I'm getting back into the hobby again after a long absence thanks to having collections stolen. My thoughts on getting into these big auction sites from reading comments and figuring out the most probable approach is, it is going to take some investment as far as joining one or more of the grading outfits and likely the auction ones as well. Having a membership does have it's perks as far as savings in grading coins and getting them onto auction sites. I would guess that the rejection some have commented they received is due to not being established with the grading and auction sites. All I can really suggest to you folks is to take the time to do the research and be prepared to make some sort of investment towards getting established. It's easy to watch these videos and look at some coins you have and get big dreams of caviar and fine wine, but don't forget an old saying that goes " It takes money to make money ".

Ya know it's funny. PCGS has the entire set of state quarters listed in MS67 with a sold price of $2750 approx. Which works out to about $55 per quarter. Hard to believe people out there willing to pay thousands for one coin.
Although these in the video are MS69 and ect. And PCGS doesn't list a sale of a complete set above MS67. So maybe it's an impossibility.

Nothing really. They are really high grade business strikes, not from mint sets, not from proof sets, found in rolls of coins with near no flaws.
It's pretty rare business strikes are usually MS60-65. 66 or 67 would be rare but attainable in significant amounts. 68 or 69 could just be a couple graded examples and possibly no MS70.

I was wondering about that even in a untouched state I don't see anyone paying over 50 bucks for a regular quarter that has been mass produced . I don't believe this video is accurate

It struck me as odd at first as well, but these are graded coins with the lowest runs and highest grades. You can check the PCGS and NGCcoin websites. The difference between a 68 and 69 could be hundreds or even thousands of dollars depending on the coin. For example, checking the website for the Ohio 2002 D - yes, a MS69 sold for $3,500, but MS68s have sold between $30-$230. If there's only a few coins that have been graded MS69, regardless of how many are laying in drawers, it's going to increase the value.

Probably, if it is in proof condition and you send it off to a company that rates coins and puts them in cases. Don't forget to insure your package.
