Perfect Twixtmas entertainment! Love Flash Gordon, and am far more on Tom's side than James's on this one. Perhaps we need to start a "Wig Watch and Threads Watch" for Tom at this rate - excellent "Brian May cameo". I was lucky enough to meet the man himself and shake his hand at the Cheltenham Literature festival a few years back - a nicer gent you couldn't hope to meet! I also saw Brian Blessed live at Cheltenham Town Hall and he did deliver the famous line more than once during proceedings, fabulous!
Can you both judge Chitty Bang Bang next Christmas ? And also I noticed that we have a Bond and technically 3 Blofeld's in this movie ! Sydow from Never Say who could have been Superb in a EON film with bald head and goatee as the main villain, secondly Peter Marinker did his voice in EYES ONLY at the start, while John Hollis was in the wheelchair. Interesting Hollis had his eyes covered up in this sci-fi film, while in EMPIRE where he also appears, it's with his ears covered up !
Who was your favourite Flash? I liked, of course, the Flash of my childhood, when the stuntmen had a lifespan measured in minutes, the flares measured in yards, and the puns delivered at a machine gun pace. That is, my Flash was, of course, John Rhys Davies, and his sidekick, a very young, pre-Boon Michael Elphick. But I can't wait until you get to the gritty reboot era. Jason Donnovan was a revelation.

Either way, I appreciate the change-up and giving Tom a chance to share his love. One question for James: Was that comment about every tape in the car being Queen's Greatest Hits a reference to the novel (and later TV series) "Good Omens", wherein it is established that, every cassette tape, if left long enough in a car, eventually transforms into Queen's Greatest Hits?
