Could you imagine putting this out on TV now!!! Police cells at large. And all and any of our friends of colour loved watching that show. Honky Tonk Woman is one of my favourite Rolling Stones records, but dare we even say that title now. The stones had to ban singing the track, Brown Sugar at gigs because they feared PC. What a life.
I'm from Trinidad. Came to England in 1978. Worked with some older English gentlemen in Ilford. The banter between us was hilarious. I learnt a few things. My accent was like Bill. The good old days. The buggers once had me drinking whisky chasing with barley wine. 😅😅 No one was ever offended.
This show was before my time but I don’t see what all the fuss is about. I am 💯 black and I have been laughing throughout. It’s a funny show. It’s entertainment. Don’t overthink it. Just enjoy it. 😁. Forget race and just 😂
@@PreservationEnthusiast If someone who is black came come on here and say he found it very funny and wasn't offended what right have you got to be offended on his behalf.
i remember watching this as a child with my family, it was funny. I had a crush on Bill, damn fine handsome chap and he still is, I also named my cat after him
Eddies hair parting is extreme I ain’t gonna be called Raftas his black how you doing the wife’s turn up right on brother chairman Mai they all meet up at the peking palace I’ve got a feeling somethings gonna turn up special feast four 4 this was a great comedy
great show i am loving these. good to see anthony jackson in this as malcolm 1 of the girls husbands, he was in the original series on rentaghost in the 70,s.
19:37 Chap on the left is from the woodwork class from "Mind Your Language". He had a bout with Mr Brown from the English class. And chap on the right is the janitor, Mr Mash from "Are You Being Served." Much younger is he here.😂
I’m a snowflake and I’ve watched this loads of times. I love this programme. One episode had Chinese in it and I watched it with my Chinese girlfriend. She sometimes calls me snowflake now. Doesn’t make me wanna riot, cry, protest or shout ‘white lives matter’ lol
I watched every episode when they were first broadcast, and I find them just as entertaining now. Things weren't perfect in those days, but by God we could laugh!
Well actually not for me growing up in the ‘70’s in England after an episode of the show I would get called racist names at school and be called a darkie and and other horrible names told I wasn’t smart cos I was dark.. was certainly a fearful time for me. The boys were afraid they would have to kiss me if we were at a party.. cos I was dark skinned I wasn’t pretty either so I always felt ugly
S B that’s horrible that you should look back on such a supposed innocent time of your life when kids are meant to be free of all adult stuff and life’s worries & then to remember things like that. I don’t suppose anyone could’ve guessed then how just some words spoken in fun could affect their kids and other people’s lives 😕
Great British comedy.

Back to the seventies when there was comedy, you could have a laugh .what has happened to us & our country ?
Jacko screws up at 3:47 and gives his half to Bill!
SNAP..... I just love it... nothing like the old school slang
Love this show, I was madly in love with Nina Baden Semper, brings back memories of a happier time.
18:52 looks like Mr.Chin in only fools.
I loved it back in the day and love it now ..GOOD LAUGH..BRILLIANT ACTING SEEMS SO RELAXED, NATURAL .❤👍👍

I've just noticed there are 2 episodes called, the TUC conference.

Great cast.

I was always madly in love with Helen Cotterill (Carol in this episode, - she was absolutely beautiful, gorgeous eyes, lovely smile !
Not seen this in years was worried be to offensive but i laughers all way through brilliant
Even with his rascist rants(Eddie), Bill & Eddie were friends. Bill teased him the whole time. Luv it❣️
In reality Jack and Rudolph were best friends
Everyone had a laugh at their own expense...
Brilliant
Bloody Brilliant, I wish they made them like this now..I nearly pissed myself laughing
Phil Clark

Great times great comedy 👍I miss these days so bad

The idea of he programme was to show how stupid Eddie and racism was was .. and Bill always ended up with the upper hand
@@PreservationEnthusiast If someone who is black came come on here and say he found it very funny and wasn't offended what right have you got to be offended on his behalf.
Exactly. It’s very funny. Enjoy it for what it is. Love the show.
I love this show, I think it's funny as hell. I'm not offended by it, hell what about Blazing Saddles ?
@Dennis Morgan Exactly. Like Til Death during us Part. We were supposed to laugh at the bigot, not identify with him.
I was a child when I first this
I can now actually appreciate it. Thank you.
2019
I love the bit when the birds home in on Bill!!!
Loved it and still do ..... amazing times xxxxxx 😂
When we were allowed to laugh. The world isn't what it was.
Another British tv good cast comedy
Wow, this would not fly today lol!
Jacko "I'll have half."
i remember watching this as a child with my family, it was funny. I had a crush on Bill, damn fine handsome chap and he still is, I also named my cat after him
What a classic
programs brings back good memory wish they could bring it back on tv
Craig Walker if you go on Amazon you can buy the complete series. That’s wher I got mine.
To repeat it on t.v. the leading actors have to give their agree ment, and they don't. I saw an interview with one of them

People seem to forget the joke was on the white guy, the black guy one the battle every week. The good old days of comedy. Thanks for this.
"I'm sure they're married" "Well, what's wrong with that so are we!" I died
Let's face it Eddie never comes out in front. It's humor not malice. It's more about Eddies racism backfiring on him and Bill having the last laugh.
I’ll have half
What the world needs is more of this and to throw away all the stupid PC crap!
Eddies hair parting is extreme I ain’t gonna be called Raftas his black how you doing the wife’s turn up right on brother chairman Mai they all meet up at the peking palace I’ve got a feeling somethings gonna turn up special feast four 4 this was a great comedy
The ending is so funny!
You can't beat good old British comedy.
Awesome show. Really funny. Give and take.
Watching this show I learned a new word for a colored person. When I first heard it I was in tears i thought it was hilarious.
Barbie is so pretty and short hair is nice on her
Moni it’s a wig idiot
Does anyone recognize jelly tots Julie?
What people forget is that black people have a sense of humour too.
Every one should,
What????

Bill sounds like a chimp or something when he laughs 😂😂
Merriment is generated because of the high humour rate!! The following laughter is the best way to get real-time contentment!!!
Quite a sweet episode that. It was always cool once Bill and Eddie were mates.
Go on, I’ll av arf. That is stuck in my head from the age of seven.
It’s just banter not racism
Oh tell me great wise pale face 🤣🤣🤣 I almost fell off the sofa laughing
Pale face racist to ,
Excuse me have you got a light haven’t I seen you somewhere before do you like Chinese food
Great program not racist in any form just funny
Ah trini to de bone.dis so funny. Blessed.
Thanks for sharing 👍 I needed to have a good laugh 😂😂 In this Depressing Time "Covid" 😧😦 missing old days and cosy chat in Pub 😯😧
Mr Chin from Only Fools and Horses episode Yellow Peril is in the restraunt scene.
A £GBP is now worth less than 5p. Eddie understood the inflation tax effect on purchasing power.
I love that Bill is a Tory. Beautiful.
12:31 That is a British Dan Akroyd. He's a wild and crazy guy! 😃
Am 100%black and I love this show I laugh my guts out everytime also who's watching in 2019
Yes society seems too dark these days. People should lighten up and stop trying to brainwash people!!!
I watched every episode when they were first broadcast, and I find them just as entertaining now. Things weren't perfect in those days, but by God we could laugh!
@@Realpoweronearth Well said 👏👏👏
@@hugebartlett1884 exactly i watch them back then and love them and still love them
I am but as a kid I used to watch it too👍🏿
I also grow up watching this it was funny then it's still funny now if only they would put it on the telly
As soon as they mentioned the Chinese restaurant, I knew there would be some sort of un-PC remark coming! "Chairman Mao" there it is.
This program was the biggest breakthrough in black and white relations.since the beginning of history. 😉
What's the name of the card game they are playing in the club?
There are hints throughout this show that Jacko doesn’t like Eddie.
Hillarious
Bill and Eddie were best friends really, they just didn't realise it.
They were frenemies.
Frenemies probably mildly funny racist on both sides .The black couple are way better looking .
True x
These were the days good comedies good comedians and a good sense of humour , would love these days back
"Tell me oh great white paleface" 😂😂😂
i can imagine Marigold saying that to Alf 🤣
The clue is in the title. its not about skin colour.
Turns out in reality Jack Smethurst and Rudolph Walker were best of friends, and Jack's son married a Black lady 😂
😂😂😂
Right on Baby 😂
I love this series its so funny and yes rough justice their is now way they would repeat this sitcom on tv now for this p.c crap.
Great 👍 ohm god you can’t watch this.
What's actually sad is if they showed this on tv today, no one would know what a trade union or the working class is? Forget anything else
I'll have a half
I❤️ Jacko!!!
I'll ave alf !!!
It wouldn't cost him much just drinking halves all night.
If youtube didn't exist, comedy treasures like this would be lost forever
sad but true :(
this programme was made for real ordinary people enjoy a laugh 😇
Yes. Harmless fun. 😁😁😁😁😁
Yay its jelly tot Julie 😊
I grew up on this and as a kid I loved to see the white man outsmarted every time...good harmless, innocent humour....sadly gone!
Well said- that is exactly what is was about!

Watched this as a kid a bit of one upmanship white and black abusing each over racially .Not pc !
This show showed how stupid racism is
