Star Citizen is an open development, crowd funded project from Cloud Imperium. Consisting of 2 games, Squadron 42 a single player, story driven campaign putting you in the middle of the Vanduul attacks as an up and coming UEE Navy pilot, and Star Citizen, a highly detailed
first person MMO set within a persistent universe where there are no limits. This includes, space, and ground aspects, massive spaceships with full interiors and interactions, a full dynamic economy which reacts to the players actions allowing for anything you can imagine.
It is all being built on the StarEngine (a modified version of Amazon's Lumberyard Engine).
Please bare in mind that this is heavily WIP and in an alpha state in which much of the foundational tech to make it a reality is still being developed. Both games do not have set release dates yet but you can play the alpha build for the PU MMO which makes consistent progress
with quarterly patch releases throughout the year.

Just like real life when you walk outside to find your car sitting on blocks and your wheels are gone.
That’s my style of play lol. Player ship salvaging is way more fun and interesting than salvage contract. Just sometimes I mistake a ship someone is still using as an abandoned ship.
if youre allowed to install multiple drain holes in the salvager, no problem.

I've been doing a lot of testing the last few weeks. Things are definitely getting better most EPTU patches, but there are still a lot of issues. I hope CIG don't rush things and push it to LIVE too soon. I'd rather wait a bit more and have a better experience for everyone when it goes to LIVE.
They’ll release it. The fires will burn, they will patch what they can. Just like every patch. Hopefully it doesn’t become 3.18 part 2.
They were just getting an influx of players and now if it's really bad it will chase away most of them so doing this wrong could really hurt the development of this game for a time.

For those of you wondering if 3.23 is stable: it is not. It is broken and servers cross into unrecoverable states often. We should not be pushing for an imminent release. 3.23 needs another week or two at least to cook. It is unplayable more than half the time. The live build feels stable in comparison.
Don’t know if your playing the same servers as me but when I’ve been playing it’s been more stable than live and incredibly good, also it’s coming out on Thursday

I think, by “losing material,” they mean to say that the salvage tool does not collect the full amount of RMC available with any given salvage target. Rather, it collects a percentage of the total RMC, and the remainder is destroyed in the collection process.
I agree with your advice. Pace yourself, everyone. Cannot emphasize that enough. So many things have changed that I find something new in every single play test.

Kind of the trouble with sandboxes, you need systems that layer and interact, or it gets boring fast. As it stands, I can get about a few weeks of moderate play before getting boring again after updates. There’s no point to the game right now besides buy more ships and that’s really dissatisfying for me.

they should make a in game holographic emitter to project this so a group of people can look at it at the same time if needed. would come in more handy for when VR is implemented for the groups when you can literally point at what you are talking about.
I haven't really wanted to play since they've announced 3.23
Now, I'm not so sure I want to play until the bugs are first fixed and our persistent hangars get implemented.
But I'm definitely looking forward to all of that.
Performance wise, everything is running smooth. However, I have noticed that ship HUDs tank my fps on average 15-25 fps. I wonder if they use the same techniques for the map, just upscaled? Give it a shot, have your ship on, sitting in the seat, look forward, mark your fps, then turn your head over your shoulder or even look straight up and mark your fps again

I had this too. There is a work around. Lower end cards get hit moreso than higher tier with this issue.
Try this. One of your displays will be 'Self Status' by default (shields also showing your ship profile, change this to 'shields' should greatly help.

Its been like this for years, some ships are worse than hers about tanking fps.
I honestly looked forward to play this patch live but right now, judging by the performance in EPTU (and the fact that it's already available for all backers), I don't think it'll work as smooth as intended. Don't know what CIG didn't finish with DLSS, FSR, TSR and Vulkan API but I get higher FPS without those. 😅
With this combat overhaul making it a lot harder for ships to run away im going to burn it into all your PVE loving nerd brains that THIS IS A PVP GAME!!!!!!! Enjoy being able to run while you can :D
3.23 is almost exclusively a QOL patch. the new content is minimal - if you consider QOL content then its massive. personally I cant wait for 3.23x as cargo/hangars etc will be the patch that moves the PU forward closer to expanding the game....and bring on tech preview of Pyro please.
Unfortunetly the ability to actually sell the RMC gathered was not fixed in the last patch. If you want this in for 3.23, upvote #STARC-107033

Too Star citizen community. If any of you have feelings about master modes and its implementation, please go on spectrum and make a post under 3.23 Master modes or upvote other people's complaints. If people don't voice their issues with master modes we will be stuck with this horrible combat flight model that they are putting in..

3.23 is imminent? That figures. The shits still broken, so why not release it. this game will never be released. It will always be an alpha as long as we’re willing to pay millions for pixel promises. Why should they finish it?. Then they would have to be held responsible for it.
I wish they'd just take their time with the patch and delay ILW and XT instead of trying to rush it... I really don't wanna see 3.18 all over again.

You technically still haven’t missed anything because you can still complete the Overdrive Initiative. Until 3.23 goes live. To answer your question, you are missing out on a pretty good time, imo. Yes, tons of bugs, glitches, and frustration, but a genuinely fun time. Made friends I wouldn’t have otherwise made because of it.

I love how that hoverbike looks so similar to a motorcycle and how small it seems to be. I might end up buying one in a weak moment just to compare its fun factor and small cargo hold compatibility with my Ranger once they are both in the game

So funny they think putting water physics is a good advertisement to an upgrade to a space sim game. The number of times I have even seen water since I have been playing is very small yet they are marketing it so much in videos.

Terrain maps are busted where ships fall through planet, and it didn't improve server crash loops, still on wave 4. At least they made another terminal at new deal though.

Well Jared did seem to say that this week's shows would be 3.23 shows if it wasn't out, or they'd be covering the next patch. Seeing as they put up the schedule though I'd have assumed that they aren't expecting it to be ready before that. Though with him saying all that it certainly seemed like it'd be this week or next.
I do like the sound of the salvage tool changes though they imply that the multitool version has any value and that's also been iffy any time I've tried it lol
Does the Pulse fold up into a smaller package (like 1 SCU box)? If not, that's a missed opportunity...
Tobii is actually enjoyable now in 3.23.
Before that it was kind of trash and they CIG not messing it up again seems like a low chance.

Regarding the RMC gathering. They mean it is like the difference between the two scrapers on the Vulture ie the Abrade will gather RMC faster but when you have scraped off everything available from, for example, a Pisces you will have less RMC in your hold than you would if you took more time with a Cinch. TL:DR when scraping with the handheld scraping tool, some of the RMC you scrape will get 'lost' between the hull and the storage can.
Whenever I try to log into the EPTU at 5 pm, none of the elevators work. That's consistently happened to me for about a week, so I hope they figure that out.

I got geared up and claimed my ship flew to the distribution center, landed, got out of my ship and immediately my ship and I fell through the center of the planet and died. I will wait a bit before wasting any more of my time with that dumb crap. Seriously! Falling through the ground at 12 years in dev is unacceptable.

Is 30K recovery implemented in 3.23?
Yes, you literally stay standing there frozen with text on the middle of your screen saying to wait as server is recovering. It spools up a new server, after 3-5 minute wait, you resume what you were doing.
No glaive in shops yet but hope that stays.
Any news on if the DB is getting wiped at 3.23?
Ive kept myself from looking at most of the vids so i dont ruin any surprises and im sooooo excited to play this.
I have found that getting used to 3.23 does indeed take time to remap and adjust to, but in the end it does feel better and I find it more enjoyable.

what about the vulkan multithreading? since the vulkan having similar performance as dx11 it should be implemented in the next 3.23 patch not a 3.23.1 patch
Vulkan multithreading is not coming with 3.23, they have to fix the bus they have now with vulkan before enabling multithreading that will probably cause a new wave of bugs

They haven't even put everything that's supposed to be in 3.23.0 into the EPTU yet, least of all hasn't gone open PTU either. So I highly doubt it's going live this week. It was planned to go live in April, but that's obviously not going to happen.
