  • Sergei Fedorov Серге́й Фёдоров One of the best two way forward in the world. Fedorov gained fame in the NHL for his unique style of play with the Detroit Red Wings, where he won 3 Stanley Cups. Fedorov was considered one of the best players in the world in the 1990s leading into early 2000s. For the 2009--10 season, Fedorov returned to his home country of Russia signing a 2-year deal with Magnitogorsk.

    I’ve never seen another player celebrating his goals by skating backwards at full speed. The greatest all around player.

    Never seen a greater talent in the game of hockey. When he was on...you were watching greatness. Gretzky and Lemieux are considered the best of the best but when you look at the entire package of hockey skills they did not have the goods like Fedorov possessed.

    It's obviously not fair to make the claim out of respect to a good number of others but, objectively speaking, I hold Federov to quite possibly (still) be the overall greatest ever. His skating prowess is still in a league of its own and then, of course, his handling abilities, his sense of where things were present and future, his ability to create a play not just by himself but so many times with (selflessly) a teammate. The man was, simply stated, unreal...................

    he is doing the system from makarov,kharlamov,larionov,the old hockeyschool from CSKA moskau, he breaks away alone and scores alone,the opnonet expects that he passes the puck to other players ,but he wont,and thats why he scores,one for all ,all for one,he learned it well,he does it well,and i have seen this before by the sovjet teams,when they won,it is a good tactic simple strategic and it works,....visit the legend of sergei makarov,and you will see the same tactic and scating style...

    A surefire first ballot Hall of Famer. He would be even greater if Bowman didn't force him to play 17 minutes a night on the second line, every regular season, from 1997 onwards. Imagine a Shanahan-Fedorov-Yzerman line in the 1997 regular season? Can you say Hart Trophy #2 for Fedorov!

    one of the top 10 greats IMO because he was perhaps the most capable player of all time... Hart winner, only lost the Art Ross at 2nd to Gretzky, and then also wins the Selke and becomes a defencemen... maybe no other player could be so dominant at both offense and defense

    gretzky was the best playmaker ive ever seen. He has more assists than messier points. His style was simple, but very effective. Nobody has/had overview like him. Fedorov was better skater and deffender, but nothing else.

  • @brianandrewleahy1
    @brianandrewleahy1 12 лет назад

    uh i was talking about 0:17-0:21 which is not a defensive play. There is no doubt Mario was a better player but i am speaking pure athletic skill. I didn't say i have never seen a better player which undoubtedly Mario was. How about Fedorov's defensive skills. How about the fact he won the slap shot and fastest skater competition. How about his unselfishness and willingness to pass or be placed on the defensive line. he has all those "natural" attributes. i think you misunderstood me. : )
